Has anybody dealt with Geraldine Moore & Assoc, PC at 1-866-252-9250? They just ask me to call back, don't state what company they are, I am assuming it is either a collection agency or a lawyer's office. I would like to know first before I attempt to call them. Thank you.

About a month ago, my husband's mother received a call from a Victor Valley with Central Credit Services. He told her she better have her son call back immediately or they would garnish his wages. I called them back and Victor explained they were attempting to collect a debt for Circuit City. He told me the original amount of the debt and offered a settlement, which was about half the original amount (1,700). He told me I had 24 hours to make a decision and arrange payment or they would garnish my husband's wages.

I am with a debt reduction program. Someone keeps calling my daughter (she lives away from home) telling her to have ME call them or have my attorney call them. I assume this is about one of my credit cards. Because they mentioned an attorney, does this mean they are sueing me? They have not sent me any letters yet. Can someone sue me without letting me know with a letter that I am being sued? The debt reduction company told me not to call any of my creditors or any collection agents but to let them handle all my transactions.

My husband has a joint loan with his ex wife. Charged off Jan 2001. Last date reported is apr 2003. Divorce states that debts were to be split 50/50. Should he just pay his half and let the creditor go after the ex for the rest? We currently are stationed in Germany, so could they even sue my husband or would they probably drop it? We have been sending post-dated checks - will the creditor use those to try and garnish his checking account?
