Last November I accidently wrote a $42 check to a local merchant that was returned for insufficient funds. I got a notice from my bank that they had returned the check. I waited to see if the merchant resubmitted the check or to get instructions from said merchant on how to fix the situation. I have no recollection of ever receiving anything and it doesn't appear that the merchant re-submitted the check for payment.

i live in mississippi, i have two internet loans one with united holdings for 300.00 and one with hydra fund II for 200.00. i have paid united holdings to date 180.00 and hydra fund II 160.00. are these payday loans legal in mississippi and how can i get out of them.

I have received notice from this company saying I owe money. I check my report for credit twice a year and the original creditor acct no. is no where to be found . do I just ignore this garbage?

Portfolio Recovery has been calling me about four times a week for over a year. I don't answer the phone and they always hang up. They finally left a message recently for a person I've never heard of. They are obviously calling the wrong number. I have no debts. How can I get rid of them?

I just read that when you settle your debt it impacts your credit score. How then can you fix your score after paying and settling all of your debts??

Hi - I was in a lease situation at a mall. I signed on behalf on the LLC I formed, treated as a Sub-S for tax purposes. I did not signa persoanl guarantee. I paid all but $ 1,200 of a $ 5,000 month renat for one month of the lease and all the remainder was paid on time. The LLC has been dissolved. I know I cannot be held persoanlly liable since there was no prsonal guarantee. Can someone tell me what section and paragraph of the FTC I can use to get the collection agency to stop calling me?

I h ave read on here that in order to keep them debiting your account you should do an ACH revocation. The local manager just screams at me whenever I talk to her. What should the revocation say and where do I send it?? Thank you.

Hi...i took out a payday loan with them....all was ok until an oversight on my part and they overdrew my account and caused a huge domino effect on other checks/debits. Now they wont stop debiting AND the amount is doubling with their fees. I cant close my bank account because its negative and I dont have the $ to bring it positive. They sent me an email with a new loan doc with the returned amounts and fees included and my typed name in the signature line as of the 10th. Can they do this? They say they cant stop it and work out an alternative pay arrangement.

need to know how i could make settlement to pay off credit card by paying a mon thly payment and not having to pay a lot of interest.
