My credit score increased by 7 points. I'm little sad to see my score increase only 7 points. One charge off and a public record have been removed. I was hoping that my credit score would increase at least by 20-30 points. But it didn't. Any idea why?

Hi. I recently took an expemption on a judgment after having a bank account garnished and frozen. The judge granted my exemption for the full amount sought. Upon leaving court however, the collectors lawyer said they would keep coming after my assets. Can they really do that? If so can they come right back and seize the same funds from the same bank? I’m wondering if my money will be safer at another bank or safer at the bank where they already garnished me? I imagine a judge would be upset to see them again on the same matter after having made the ruling .., Thanks! -Josh

Have u heard of any success from people fighting debts and or getting refunds from my cash now? I'm going to the bank tomorrow to deal with that aspect and I got my letters all written today and plan on sending them out tomorrow after i'm thru with the bank. If so, can u tell me which means has had the most success in contacting(postal mail/email) and to which addresses?

Can filing a bankruptcy help in get rid of first and second mortgage as well?

Right now, we are not in a position to pay anything towards my husband's two tribal loans. In Michigan, I am not sure if they are considered payday loans when it comes to the law, or what they fall under. When I called the proper agency to inquire about it, I was told their being tribal did not make them illegal, but we could file a complaint to find if they are licensed. Another lady looked up their names a different day and said they were not licensed. I am not sure if down the road we will have to file bankruptcy.

i recently sent letter to my illegal lenders requesting a refund of over payment of the principal. one has not replied at all gentle breeze , and the other bayside cash online replied once with the first simple letter stating i knew they were illegal and wanted refund. they claimed i had to follow laws of belize blah blah...so i sent another letter including my state laws and more serious actions/ consequences if they didnt comply and havent heard any thing since. i was just curious if i should pursue them further since i way over paid the principal or just let it go?

I'm a 70 year old man living on SSI with $50,000 on credit card debt and student loan debt. Should I file bankruptcy? Which one will be better - Chapter 7 or Chapter 13. Will I lose my home?

I have quite a bit of debt. My wife owns a house. If I file bankruptcy, can they force her to sell the house? My name is not there in the house; it's entirely in my wife's name.
