I also have been grappling with ASG. For two months now they have been calling me off and on about an account I have been paying on. Incidentally, my first contact with them was a couple of days after I had made a payment on the account in question. I first tried to work out a payment schedule with them, they didn't want to do that, they wanted the whole amount. I told them I didn't have that much money on me, he somehow pulled up the fact that I had made a down payment on a car recently! (I had had an accident and my car was totaled.

Dear forum people, How do I know whether my account is with collection agencies or with a creditor? If a collection agency calls me, does it mean it is passed to them? Is there someway I can still ask my creditor directly and avoid collection agencies? I think my accounts are passes to collection agencies, they really S**ks.

Hello, I am considering debt consolidation, however, I have secured and unsecured student loans as well as $13,000 (approx.) in credit card debt. I am still not finished with school, so this is where the however comes in. I am wondering if I do debt consolidation for the unsecure portion of the student loan I owe already (I went to tech school... now I'm trying to get my degree at a credited University), will that prevent me from getting further loans to finish school?
