I just recently discovered this website, and I'm SO happy to have found it! It looks like it will be very helpful to me & to everyone else that comes to these boards as well! I recently took out a $300.00 payday loan with Ameriloan. It's come to my attention that Ameriloan is actually not licensed to lend to people in my state (Maine). So far I've paid $180.00 on the loan which from my understanding means that I only owe them another $120.00.

A process server called my husband last week to let him know about a lawsuit against him and told him to call Nationwide Law Firm to settle this matter. He then called again to let him know that he has verified an address to go and serve him papers because he already gave him a chance to settle the matter and he didn't. He stated that my husband has until then to call again since he has not received verification from this law firm to serve him the papers just yet.

Received a call from these goofballs on my job around 6:30 am this morning. The guy left a voice mail stating that he was Officer Gary Carter and was an Investigator. Stated that there was a legal complaint filed against me with their office and that I needed to call them back. Threatened they would bring it to my doorstep.

I live in Texas and being sued by Citi Bank. I know in Texas they can't garnish wages..but can seize your bank account....but not sure about judgements...so if I have a homestead exemption can they place a judgement on my house? And if I sell will I have to pay the full amount of judgement at that time? Thanks for you help...

OK - so a few of the lenders threw up the white flag and surrendered. I got a call from US Fast Cash today telling me they never received my letter (BS) and that I owe them $390 but they will settle for $312. I told the rep that payday lending is illegal in NJ and she kept saying over and over that I took the loan on line. I told her the Law of NJ prevail but she kept saying that over and over. Anyone have any thoughts n this? Does it matter that they were on line loans? I would think that if this place does not have a license in NJ, whether on line or not, they can't lend?

i just got an email from everest cash, saying thank you for my payment of 91.50????? my account is closed, has been closed for a week. how can this be???? i did open an account with the same bank, but the automated line shows 700 dollars is gone, but doesnt say what the 700 dollars is. it should be my rent, but how can everest have a payment??? and if they can get a payment, can all the rest of them as well????? omg, i'll be so overdrawn if this happens.

I had multiple storefront and online PDL"s that I either paid off (the legal ones) or got paid in full letters from the illegal ones except for ZIP19, Hadn't heard anything lately. Today I recieved a call from a private number. I missed the call and a guy named John Carls left a message stating that is was a process server and needed to verify my address and place of employment to serve me.

Hello - I live in IL and am worried I'm going to have to default soon. I already asked for a repayment plan, they said my loan is the repayment plan. Is this "installment loan" I took not cover by the IL law that says lenders should offer a 4 payment repayment plan after 35 days? BTW my bank account they have is already closed, I've just been paying cash to keep it current. I'll most likely default in early Jan. once I file my taxes I'll be able to pay in full when I get the refund. Should I just let it default then and when they call just tell them that?

Hello, i just got a call today from some ACS company at 1-877-837-6299 saying they purchased a loan from Cash Call and that i owed 4 times what the loan was for. They then asked me to pay half, to this day i have not received any correspondence from these people since i dealt with cash call. They informed me that since i will pay them they will send to an attorney in Houston Texas since i reside in Texas and they would not give me their name. Does know how i should deal with these people they are also saying i waived my right to file Bankruptcy on this debt as well. Please help
