ok, so im getting really desperate here and wanted to apply for some pt jobs. So far ive applied at: applebees, macys and target. It's taken 2.5 hours to complete those?!?!? I appreciate being able to do it online, but all except applebeees had a #100 questionnaire, basically asking personality questions. it's been a long time since I applied for a regular job. My field of works is highly specialized but im getting paid salary right now so no opportunity for increasing hours, etc. I just want something max 20/hours a week, low key, flexible hours.

Everyone always asks about how to get rid of harassing phone calls. My solution, BLOCK them. I used an ap on my droid, called "mr. number" but there are numerous ones out there. I have it set to block all toll free numbers, then all unknown numbers come across and either i can answer it, then block if i want or ignore it and it's blocked. My phone barely rings except for ppl that know me. I have it set to answer the call and hang up, rather than go to voicemail, this way they dont even know if they have the right number.

I am being sued in TN next week and on the summons it states that there is a $10k exemption allowed as long as it is filed anytime before the judgement. Both of the cars we have are in my name, which I dont believe they would want mine, a $1500 Honda, but I plan on putting the wifes and mine both on the list. The wifes car is a 2005 pacifica and is owed about $6500 which is about the same as what it is worth.

I have been sued. I live in Texas. I cannot afford an attorney. Help, please. What do I do next? The plaintiff says Cap One. It's all car of Michael J. Scott, PC. I don't believe that I ever recieved a letter stating that I would be getting sued, otherwise I would have been freaking out before now. The debt is about 2 and a half years old. If he went through with filing in the courts already, does that mean that he can verify the debt? The odd part is, it's showing as a small business credit card, I've never had a business, much less a credit card for one. I'm confused.

My first settlement, my citi mastercard had been turned over to capital managment, it was about 120+ days behind. I'm unable to make a lump sum payment but if I could I would have gotten it at 33%. So we settled on 40%, with payments over 9 months, which is doable for me. I will slowly start to settle others, i have about 12 more, another citi, I called and they no offer, they're somewhere b/w 90-120 days. i actually made payments for october on most of my accounts, so Im good for a while and going to try to save up.

Contracted to put new roof on home 10/08/2011- $30,000.00. On 10/14/2011 - after fourteen years with the same company - I and other older employees were laid off. I own my home. I am not delinquent on any account. Total credit card debt (2- credit cards unsecured BofA) $4500.00 and $6500.00. The other Credit Card Debt is backed by CITI. and has a secured interest clause for $30,000.00. My Wife and I receive social security, and I draw $221.00 per week unemployment which ends April 2011. Without income from my previous job - my accounts go into negative cash flow.

I have a question. We are working with Superior Debt Services to consolidate and settle some debt and I was curious to here of others' experiences with this company and if/how it affected your taxes. I've read somewhere that in some cases you have to claim the amount they write off as income. We are facing major changes in Jan., I cannot afford any surprises! Any feedback anyone has on Superior Debt Services in general are appreciated. Thank you!

What is the average amount of days late will a credit card company sue you? Do they try sending the debt to a collection agency first and then they sue? Is it possible to know when they might sue, so I can arrangements before than? I live in a non-garnishment state, but They could take my checking account, right? How much do they have to leave for living expenses? Can I just take all the money out of checking account and turn off direct deposit? Just want to know what you all have experienced. Thanks!

I don't have anything saved to get better offers, so I thought this was reasonable and it does fit into my budget. I may have to wait to do the about 9 other cards The settlement was with Citibank mastercard. Balance: 9809, settle for 3433.
