I got a credit card when I lived in SC in 2007 the SOL there is 3 years, I am now living in CT and the SOL is 6 years. The credit card has since been in collections and they say that I have to pay the debt because the SOL goes by what state you live in. Is this true? I thought it was where I started the credit card. I didn't pay the credit card since moving to CT.

I rec'd an alert that a collection has been added to my accout from my credit watch company. It was from Focus Receivables and I I do not not know of any outstanding bills I have. I pay mycredid cards monthly and do not have any outstanding debts. I sentd e-mails to F/R requesting information who, what for, when and they will not answer me. I feel this is a scam and have checked into them and thier background. What should I do now as my credit rating is could be affected?? Don

Sam's account with GE Money was sent to NCO financial. have not spoken to either of them yet.GE now sent letter requesting bankruptcy info but i have not filed bankruptcy.Any suggestions on what to do.Should I try to settle with GE or NCO?

Hi, I live in Oregon and I have tribal loans. One is Plain Green and the other is Western Sky (Which was just sold to Cash Call). I cannot pay afford to pay the interest any longer. I want to close my bank account and then make arrangements with them to pay off the principle. Can I do this? Or am I going to run into difficulties. I don't have any problem receiving collection calls. (They can't get blood from a stone). My only fear is that they will sue me. Is this a possibility. My understanding is that all tribal loans are not legal, but I'm still nervous about taking this step.

we live in AZ and have 2 internet payday loans Redstone 500.00 paid 175.00 Peppercash 450.00 paid 157.50 we were told that the finance charges were 1x only and then we would be paying off the principle but that is not the case we are paying the finance charges every payday and nothing towards the principle we would like to consolidate them asap.

West Asset Management called me, not for me, but because I'm a relative of someone they are trying to track I asked them several times if this was a collection agency they said NO each time. The call came from Huntsville Alabama. 256-529-4031 I refused to give them anyinformation and told them I believed they are a collection agency and not to call me again. So I just started getting these calls from this company, They never respond when I answer the phone, but will leave me mildly rude voicemails inregards to a claim that was placed against me. They never say who they are or who placed the claim against me and when I call the 1-888-530-3668 number I am asked to leave a message if I do not know my parties extention. I do not have any outstanding debt? ANd a couple months before This company started calling me another collections company called me in regards to a 5,000 dollar credit card they said I had 11 years ago?
