I live in the State of Missouri. I am in the middle of crazy Payday Loan (they were all online!!) downward Spiral. I have to take one out to pay off the other and now I cannot get caught up. I was thinking about closing my checking account to make payment arrangements with them. I already am in the hole with my account and cannot pay even the finance charges this week. That or I might possibly go through bankruptcy (I have various debt besides these). But am so afraid of Missouri Law and that I might be arrested. I do not know what to do.

I have a student loan with Wells Fargo, I have tried to work out a payment plan with Wells Fargo to pay off the student loan my payment of $24.00 every payday was turned down. At this Wells Fargo will be sending my employer a wage garnishment form to start the process. I live in Dallas, Texas, I am 64 years of age. I am a receptionist and bring home is about $734.00 twice a month. Ed Fund is handling the collection of this debt. I just got a phone message from Northstar Location Services. It was a debt collection request. The problem is that I have no overdue debt and have not been sent to collections by anyone. My credit rating is pushing 800 on all lists. They apparently just find someone with the name they are looking for and pester them. Ist his common practice? I've been getting these calls sometimes 3 or 4 times per day. I block the calls but they come up with a new 866 or 800 number within a day or so.

They are taking advantage of this weak economy to prey on folks that are unemployed and struggling to live. Can folks group together, such as a 'class action suit' to get them to stop harrassing and threatening people?
