They are a bunch of crooks. You can tell by they name and address. My 14 year old received a similar letter claiming a $31,096 debt owed to Credigy Receivables for $14,881 and interest payment of $16,214. Are they out of their minds or what do they smoke over there! The State Attorney General should investigate those crooks.

I have recently received a civil action hearing notice from LVNV Funding who we owe nothing to; they claim they are owed the amount due to them (they bought our debt from Sears) LVNV also shows on our credit report - Sears/Citibank who orginally had our account states on our credit report the account status as: Transferred, closed. $amount written off. two years ago when i lost my job i had contacted all our creditors to ask for help (course i no longer can find that information where i had it written down) however, our mortgage company did help us.

I have started getting phone calls from AFS. Today in the mail , I recieved a pre-legal demand letter telling me I owe them for a old CC debt. The amount is $11,000 more than the original balance on the card... I am going to do a debt validation. What else should I do? Heck, even paying the original balance is out of my financial ability.. I am trying to avoid going to court. PLease Help!

Recently had a credit report ran on me and was denied housing based upon my credit report...I received a -35 RG from Capitol One. I have been making payments to Suttell & Hammer P.S. since 07/14/2009. When I contacted Suttell & Hammer they informed me that they do not report to Credit Bureaus. When I contacted Capitol One they were unable to pull up my information. They in turn gave me another number to call and the lady who answered rudely told me to call Suttell & Hammer. Is it true that my credit report will not reflect any payments until the debt is paid in full?

I only received unemployment compensation in 2010, yet my tax refund was offset for student loans. Can they really do that? Can I get it back?

Found a $400 Exxon/Mobil (CITI) card on my wife's credit report - charged off and supposed sold to a collection agency last May. Never received a bill for this and CITI claims it was sold and can't or won't do anything about it. The Collection Agent has never contacted us, so I called them. They claim to have no record of the debt?!? They also do not show up on her credit report. I disputed the debt on-line with Experian and all CITI did was reaffirm the debt.

This company called my home number week after week with their automated service. When I finally called them back they were rude as hell and asked me to prove I had declared bankruptcy on this card in 1992. She finally said she'd remove my number from their records but I won't hold my breath. They flat refused to give me any information about the debt or themselves until I proved who I was, then I got a PO Box address in St Louis - P.O. 790113 / St Louis, MO 63179 / 209-800-1281. What a bunch of con artists!
