Has anyone closed a Bank of America account recently? I need to do this, but wondering if there are any surprises in store. I've had the account for a long time, and it kills me to have to do it, but I know I must to begin to deal with MyCashNow rather than paying them a rollover fee continously. I've paid the principal and then some in fees alone on this specific loan. The next payment comes due at the end of the month. I've had many loans with them over the years and have never defaulted. It was just a constant juggling act. I have to stop and take control back now. So ...

I'm wondering if anyone has a recent "good" address for this company for creditor notice for BK? According to the Nevada State Wedsite, Silver Shield is listed as their registered agent and the filing is still valid. I have a loan with them that I've just been renewing (for 6 months, so you can imagine what has been paid so far). I'm in NJ. I know our laws here say they are considered prohibited. Is this actually the same as "illegal?" How does interest rate max play a roll (if it does?). Any information would be extremely appreciated.

I have private educational loans with Citibank. They said that I can't get any more in school deferments because my parents weren't making payments on my loans when I was unable to attend school this past semester. I still have more time to use deferments, when I spoke to Citi last year, I was told I was still eligible for several years. Are they legally entitled to do this? Do I have room to negotiate with them? I haven't defaulted on my loans and we've paid the amount that was delinquent.

I am being harassed by a company claiming to represent some company named MTE financial saying that I got a loan in 2009 online. I live in Illinois. I know I did get some loans but I thought I paid them all. I asked them to send me something and they just sent a basic letter with the wrong account number and a address out of state that i have not lived at for 6 1/2 years. What can i do?

I have 5 credit cards. I am current on 2 credit cards at present. I have been thinking to file bankruptcy for last few months. I have co-signed for my best friend to buy a sports car. My friend is a responsible person. So, I didn???t hesitate to co-sign for his loan. I went to London for an official trip. Patenaude & Felix, APC. sued me without validated the debt which they said I owed. I answer the complaint and went to case management conference. Now the court date is set for Feb. 2012. Any advise what should I do now or I just wait to court date?
