How bad does debt settlement hit your credit score?

My parents recently went bankrupt. They were able to keep their house but, they have a construction loan which is past due and they are currently paying really high interest only payments. How can they get a mortgage to pay off the construction loan? If it is impossible for them to get a loan, what are the options for their children obtaining a loan? Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi I live in TN and currently have 9 pay day loans. I am not at the stage where i am unable to continue to pay their outrageous charges. Today i filled out forms at my bank with revoke ACH authorization for each company. Tomorrow after my pay goes in and my account is back in credit i will close my account and open a new one. I have accel debt management which is a free service that is offered in association with my bank contacting some of the payday loan people. Is this a good idea? i know some of them are illegal but i just dont want a bunch of crap put on my credit.

I have an unpaid student loan in California and pell grant from 1978 to 1980. Will it show up on a Gaming licence in Colorado? What is your guess.

May ow bill did not get information, this company has repeately called my residence at all hours and I can not stop them, from haressing phone calls. Is there any way tos top these calls and obtain a payment plan for any bill that may be owed, for i am on a part time income because of student status. I want them to send me the bill I owe not continually phone my home.

I have two accounts that Michael J. Scott PC is holding. I have tried to settle these accounts with them and it is almost like getting a bill passed through congress. I called several times and spoke to: A. Sonia B. Keya C. Paulo D. Marcus It started off with Sonia giving me an amount for one and sending the wrong paper work for it.

Hello..... I have a credit monitoring service, and I got a credit alert from experian. I log into the services to see what was happening and on my report there is this collection agency on there for a payday loan, that was given to me in 2004. Since this loan the company has gone out of business, and I have move from the previous address. I check to see what the Statue Of Limitations were here in the state of Massachuettes, and benowst to me, it has pass the 6yrs.

hello nelly, my name is joe and i feel financially raped by gc collections. i called the court to set up a court date because i had a ticket which had a hold on my license, the automated machine gave me a number to contact gc collections and also said that the ticket is basically out of the courts hands. i called the number and some agent named mr. v.c. told me that i owe $1,716 and that it has to be paid in full in order to take the hold off my license. i advised him that im unemployed and im recieving e.d.d. and that i really dont have that type of money.

I have received 2 notices today from the above noted collection agency. They are attempting to collect debt on 2 credit cards with HSBC (one account my husbands and they other mine). I reside in the state of KY and the balances on these accounts are $340.32 and the other is $542.98. Any idea what the liklihood is of being sued for balances of this amount? My husband was invovled in 2 auto accidents last year and it caused us to fall behind on our bills due to lost wages. Any advice is welcomed
