Greetings, My debt originated w/ sears credit citibank. I defaulted and they decided to lower my credit line lower then my actual balance and charged me late fees, over the limit fees, etc. NCO had the acct. and now CFG has it. CFG wants me to make a down payment of over $600 and agree to $180/month for this $1800 outstanding debt. If I cannot afford this! I acknowledge that I do owe this and now that I finally have a job, i am willing to pay what I can. The rep stated to me that my offer is not good enough, they have declined letting me make my own pmts and send me a monthly statement.

I have several collection agencies that were on my report couple months ago and have disappeared now. Have they just sold the debt to another collection agency? Should I expect a new one to popup?

A couple of years ago AMEX came after me for money I owed on their credit card. I had lost my job and was not making the income I used to make. I was able to find employment, but I am making about half of what I used to make and was never able to pay this debt back since I was trying to keep a roof over my head and pay utilities, food, etc. I did the ultimate no,no and ignored it. I did file a response, but when it was set for court I didn't show and AMEX got a judgement against me.

I had a Kay Jewlers account that I paid of in 1993. I am now getting phone calls from Portfolio Recovery stating that I not only owe the money but am to provide them with proof of payment to Kay from 17 yrs ago. This is insane. When I told them that they were way beyond any reasonable right to contact, report or collect even if I didnt pay it off they told me they had every right to and unless I proved that I paid them I would continue to be contacted. My state is Maryland, how is this possible?

If you guys get a call from these fools, REPORT THEM. NO WAY are they a legit collections agency, they are a fully hispanic company that buys accounts from GRS (General Revenue Service, they are the ones that are who make whatever decisions that effect your credit).

how can i come out of debt problems ending my life is the solution

I have a loan from American General that just recently got charged off. It doesn't look like any collection agency has taken over it yet. I was wondering if anyone had dealt with defaulted loans with this company? I would like to do a PFD with them, but not sure if thats the best route. Also, the loan was secured by household goods. Anyone have luck getting the charge off rescinded and was able to make regular payments towards the account? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I got a letter in the mail from one of the collection agencies on my credit report on 8/7/2010 saying they have instructed the three credit bureaus to delete their entries from my credit report. I checked my report today and still see it on there. How long does it typically take once they notify the credit reporting agencies? Do I need to send anything in to them? Your help is appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone ever actually gotten a refund for payment over the principal balance on one of these loans?

I received a summons with Zwicker and Assoc. as Attorney for Plaintiff and Chase as the Plaintiff. If I understand this correctly I'm being sued by Chase. I pulled my credit report and it shows that my Chase account was charged off as bad debt. Can Chase still sue me?
