Payday Loan Yes - email response help

15 years 4 months ago
Hi everyone. I have emailed Payday-Loan-Yes with the laws in the state of Texas and let them know that their practices in Texas are illegal. I've also filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's office. I borrowed $400 and have paid back $545 so far. Here is the email response I just received. Can someone please help me respond? I know I don't owe them the principle and want to make sure I enforce that I know they are illegal. Any help is appreciated!!! We did not solicit your business. You went outside of your state and took the loan.

Need some advice

15 years 4 months ago
I hope I came to the right place to get some solid advice. Everything was going accordingly with my finances and my bill payments until I got smacked in the face real hard this past tax season. To make a long story short, a screw up occured when submitting W-4's for my job I got back in May of 2009 that didn't deduct any federal taxes from my paycheck.

Nations Recovery Center

I have an account with Credit One Bank that is apparently in default from 2008. I use to have a Credit One Bank credit card, but thought it was paid in full and closed in 2009. Anyhow, my account has apparently been turned over to Nations Recovery Center. I received a letter from them and immediately sent a debt validation letter to them via certified/return receipt US Postal Service. I received the return receipt back from the Post Office, so I know Nations Recovery Center received my letter. Question, what happens next? How long do they have to send me the info.

I can't believe they duped me

When they talk to you they give you such a sense-of-urgency and speak so matter-of-factly that you are compelled to believe them. Listen people, any time, any attorney makes legal threats, tell them you are getting an attorney yourself. If you can't afford one, may I suggest pre-paid legal. There are pre-paid legal agents in all areas. It will cost you like $17 a month and they can go over all your legal options. I spoke to my pre-paid legal lady and she told me it is highly unlikely that they will sue you.

What do I do next?

15 years 4 months ago
I am following all of the stories on this forum. I was in serious payday loan hell. In two weeks, I have had $2600 declared paid in full. When they email me and say my loan is paid in full, yet I will never be able to borrow from them again, I thank God! But there are some lenders not legally licensed in Texas and they are either just not contacting me, or contacting me by phone and wanting money that I do not have right now. Still getting caught up on real bills.

10yr old account

Question: i received a letter from a collection agency about an account created with Verizon 10 years ago. (2000) Interestingly enough, I never had a Verizon account but always have been with either AT&T or Sprint.

Using FB to find Debtors

15 years 4 months ago
I just wanted to let people know that there are collection companies that are now using Facebook to find people. Their is a news article of one such company in Orlando, Fl being sued for doing exactly that, www.local6.com. They evidently found one woman and used her FB to harrass her and family members. How low can these places go?!
