Hi! An organization calling itself CollectCorp has been leaving voice-mail messages at my home. I am concerned that it may be a fraudulent outfit. 1. It alleges that I have debt. I don't. My husband and I live frugally. Our house is paid for. We paid cash for our cars. We pay off our credit card (in full) every month. We have combed our records, and we can find no debt anywhere. 2. The callers have begun to use that "We can help" line. I understand that debt scammers do this all the time.

Here are the 2 online companies I owe: Nationwidecash Borrowed $1000 Paid $1186 1800899cash Borrowed $600 Paid $60 I sent Nationwidecash a letter last week according to your template for unlicensed lenders. They called today saying they were going to prosecute me for fraud. They said I came to them and that I am bound by their country's laws and US federal laws not Missouri laws. Should I ignore them or get a lawyer? I filed a complaint with the Missouri Department of Finance.

I had a store-front payday loan in Texas from First Cash Financial Services, Inc., apparently also known as Texas Loan Corporation. It went to corporate collections, and I was fortunate enough to be able to satisfy the amount in full that they requested. This was about a year and a half ago.

My ex bought a car in 07 and made the car payments. I was giving him the money for payments. In Feb of 09 they came to repo the car as he pocketed the car payment money. Anyways had to pay the repo man $2500 to save the car. I made payment arrangements 3 times to have payments to come out of my account. In the same time the car loan was being bought out by Bank of Nova Scotia. So anyways no payment has never came out of the account and its been since Feb 2009. No letters have been sent or nothing. I was wondering will the car ever get repoed after year and half?

And that he knows where I live and was going to serve me papers, he then left a phone number for company named Nationwide but he called them ADR. After I called to see what this is about I was informed that this was an attempt to collect on a debt for a Biggest Cash. This loan was paid back in 2008 but they are stating the amount never cleared from previous bank. They accused me of fraud and asked If I was served the paper. Any advise on what my next step should be ?

I had a collector call about a bill for a hospital visit that i dont remember taking place under my correct first name and ss# but had the wrong last name. when i asked the woman to send me the information for the bill so that i may review it she got real nasty and said "i dont see why i should send you the papers, youre NOT going to pay anyways." then continued to try to belittle me when i just tried to explain to her that i never said i would pay but i never said i wouldnt.

Found out when I went to purchase my home that I had some collections on my credit file. Found out that my ex-wife had used my social security as her own to open several accounts as her own. I had them all removed back in 2004, but now they have showed up again. These accounts do not show up on transunion or experian, but do on Equifax. When I call the collection agencies, they tell me the social I gave them does not match my name. That was the whole purpose for the call. Just want to see if I am missing anything that I should be doing.
