Can anyone confirm what Discover's charge off time period is? They are telling my wife and i 210 days but all of our other cards are 180 days. Is 210 correct?

I recently settled on a condo we owned in FL. Chase allowed a short sale and we were given a 1099 for the huge difference between sale price and the mortgage. I thought everything was settled until now this Oxford Mangement company is calling my cell phone and home phone stating I owe the balance on the mortgage. I am awaiting a call back fromChase mortgage department but that seems to be lost in the schuffle. Anyone have any experiernce with Oxford demanding this? Seems strange after 5 months. Thx...Mike

We have a payday loan at Rent-a-Center storefront for $784.33 We couldnt make the last payment so they tried to cash the check. It was returned for NFS and they are calling saying they dont want to have to send it to the DA's office, but they will. While trying to reach us they called my sister-in-law and mother-in-law and told them it was reguarding a bounced check. Are they allowed to tell my in-laws about our financial business? Can they turn the check in for criminal charges? Thanks for your time Jessica

Will LVNV send 1099c on an old SOL debt? Does taxpayer pay tax on charged off amount or the total will years and years of interest added in the balance?

Hello Im from Chicago,IL can you please help, or give me advice on what my options are im at my breaking point, Im so stressed out about these pay day loans, I made the mistake of taking one out now I have six out and trying to dig my self out of the whole I created. I have 5 store pdls and 1 internet loan. I need help, what laws protect consumers, Im afraid they will garnish my wages.

I'm behind on my mortgage with Bankunited 2 months and I had a message on my phone today from a DCS rep? Why would a mortgage company use a collecltion agency when they are trying to get me to modify my loan or will follow thru with foresclosure? I'm not behind on any other bill.
