I made an early payment in April for my cc bill and because it was before the May statement closing date it recognized no payment for May and therefore the removed my credit line. :o/ Is this fair practice?

Hi there I am settling my accounts all that I can before I turn them over to a debt settlement company to save money. I have settled my HSBC accounts and still have Applied, Tribute, Target, and Merrick credit cards. Has anyone settled on there own with these cards. I settle with HSBC with 30 and 40% of the balance owed. I have one account charging off next week Tribute I think it was. This card was a rip off , I paid on time the minimum and they only deducted 6.00 from my account last year. I really don't feel I owe them anything.

They are registed as "Debt Collectors", but on their letterhead they haveCO., LPA. Anyone have dealings with them? I've seen a lot of complaints, going back at least three years

I thought I should write some words of encouragment to you all. I came to this site a week ago, barely able to catch my breath and crying on my keyboard. I had out 5 payday loans. I had finished paying the principal amounts, but was still getting hit with a ton of fees. I needed the money for unexpected medical expenses. I took the advice of many on this site and a week later I have settled with all 5 companies and have gotten a PIF on the accounts. Use the letters they have so kindly provided. Read, learn and SPEAK your state laws. They WILL listen! I want to thank you all for your help.

Summons - Sued by Cavalry Portfolio Services... I recieved this summons 2 days ago and I plan to respond and represent myself here in Florida, problem is I am unsure of the direction I should head with my response. I was considering buying the doc package from ihavebeenserved dot info but am unsure if its really worth my money; is it? The basics - The summons I recieved has some docs attached claiming I owe over 7,500 from a credit card, there are 2 bill of sale attatchments, 1 from the bank to riverwalk holdings, then from riverwalk to cavalry.

I have been receiving threatening calls from the ADR firm about a payday loan. However the call back number is to "Nationwide". Does anyone have a valid address and/or phone number so I can file a complaint with my state's Attorney General?
