The state legislature of Colorado has passed a bill which states that from August 11, 2010 the interest rate on all payday loans will be capped at 45%. This is sure to bring joy among thousands of PDL borrowers.

I'm having a secured credit card from a well known company for 3 years now and I wanted to change it to an unsecured one. But, when I called them, they said that they're not accepting any 'graduating' applications now. At the time of taking the secured card, they said that I can graduate to an unsecured one within a year. But after 1 year of taking the card, they sent me a notification that I cannot get an unsecured card since I've a collection account in my credit report for the last 5 years. The rep told me that I should contact the credit services department and apply for a new card.

Why was I denied a "debt consolidation loan" when I applied for one? Did the filing and discharge of my Chapter 7 debts *four years ago* make this an issue? Why do some people get them (post-chapter 7) and some don't? Why didn't I make the cut, even though my credit score is approximately 630?

How is it that you can still get credit cards after a Chapter 7? I wish I HAD NOT gotten more credit cards, as I am now $7500 in debt with them AGAIN. Thankfully, I am using an reputable website/company to get them paid off, yet again. Geesh. I wish I had listened to my instincts and simply not gotten them!

We went to court in August 2006, and were discharged of all debt in October 2006. In the meantime, we continued to pay our mortgage. Since the "discharge", we have continued to see this figure of $900.00 show up in the "Fees/Special Charges" portion of our monthly statement.

I have a friend who filed Chapter 13 last year. Her total debt was in the ballpark of $135,000. How long will it take her to pay that back? Should she really even bother?

Which bankruptcy is HONESTLY better to file? Does it even matter? When you file 13, you have to pay it back. However, if you file 7, and you're discharged of the debts, you never have to pay them back. So...which one is better?:confused::confused::confused:
