I was in a debt settlement for almost 4 years when they went bankrupt not paying on my debt other than a few small settlements. Now 2 of my debts that remain have been sold to a collection co. How do i deal with them? I have not been contacted by them yet. Help i'm over my head. Any ideas?

Hello, I reached a tentative settlement today with BOA. It was a business card (personally secured) ~ 20k debt for 25%. I told them i would call them back tomorrow to go over the details one more time. They told me they wont delete this information from my credit report. Is there any way for me to convince them to remove this from my credit report? It really banged me pretty hard. let me know! this site has been a great help.

I had an account with Capital One which was eventually charged off as bad debt. Eventually MCM got a hold of the debt. I paid MCM in full. MCM has updated the status as paid. However for Capital One the status remains as charged off as bad debt. My question is does Capital have an obligation to update the status??
