bureau change from "claim filed" to "paid in full by claim".. good?

16 years 1 month ago
Well, it's all in the thread title. I spoke with a creditor today regarding two debts that were paid in full a couple of years ago but which never had their status changed on my credit report. Asked the guy if he'd change them to "paid in full" or at least "paid in full by claim" so that when I apply for credit, people stop telling me that I have too many open accounts with too much owed.

Has anyone taken a hardship loan from their retirement to combat the debt. I know not the wisest choice - but feel we have no choice. Could you share your experiences?

I already submitted a thread, but it was deleted or lost. I'm in Illinois. I have the following "loans" (I never applied for three of them but they deposited $ into my account anyways): VIP Loan Shop: $400 loan, paid $240 United Cash Loans: $400 loan, paid $240 Nationwide Cash: $300 loan, $0.00 paid Credits Cash Advance Network: $300 loan, $0.00 paid I do not believe any of this vendors are licensed in Illinois, and their terms violate state law.

AMEX--GC Services--what to do now?

16 years 1 month ago
A month ago, this collector who I later found out was from GC Services called me wanting to talk to me about my AMEX account. It was about 90 days past due, and I wasn't ready to talk to them yet, plus I was getting my monthly statement from AMEX, so I was kind of suspicious. Anyway I called AMEX, and got a recording stating they no longer service my account. I ended up sending a debt validation letter to GC Services after I got a collection letter asking me to pay, but I also got a monthly statement from AMEX at the same time.

Discover

16 years 1 month ago
We have a card with Discover that we have not paid anything on in about a year, due to my husband being in and out of work and me having to switch jobs due to company lay off(and huge decrease in my salary). I was summoned to court back in the fall and we worked off a payoff by end of Jan, 2010. We had a project back up a few months to Feb/March, so now we will not have the full amount to pay it off. We do have about half of the 8900. In the meantime, they no longer use Mann Brakken and we tried to call them to work something out and tel# is disconnected.

Help with EWS Understanding?

16 years 1 month ago
What should I do if I've been reported to EWS? I'm not sure if I have but since MCA has said that most who have been reported to Chexsystems are on there as well and I was reported to chexsystems four years ago.

What is the Checking / Savings About

16 years 1 month ago
I am posting this here as to only look ignorant in front of those who know that I am not always! I found that I have this checking and savings account on the site here and have no clue how that works. It shows I have all these credits in checking. What are they for? I thought they were all the points that I cashed in over time. If they are then what good is transferring them to savings? I am confused! Please shed some light on this for me! Also it talks about a loan with 10 percent interest! Is this an educational tool?
