Federal Law-Paydayloan Reform Act of 2009 states that rollovers are not legal, if this is correct then why are payday loan companies still offering rollovers by extending the loan by paying the fee only?

years ago i never heard of pdls. there was pawn shops, loan sharks, and natural banking systems, and of course relatives. my relatives are usually broke. the pawn shops here are only interested in giving quarter price for items, so they can sell it back out high. loan sharks were in the cities not Montana out back. Since my divorce (and my bad decisions) i never thought i had a credit rating for natural banking. I found a store front payday loan, and that wasn't so bad. after finding Mt laws now, don't know that guy does it (mt is a no rollover, this store front does it).

i received a letter from them stating they will forward my documentation to a collection attorney in my area within 21 days if i do not respond to them. does this mean they are going to sue me?

Are online payday loans legal in Michigan? I have loans with PaydayMax, NLS Cash Advance, GECC Loan, UnitedCashLoans, and Integrity Advance.

One of the posts I read said that Texas gives you "teeth" for DV. Could anyone tell me what this means? Are there special rules/laws for Texas? Also, it has been more than 30 days since first contact. I'm unsure if they ever sent the required letter, as this is an old debt of my husbands. Can I still do a DV? Thanks. Lori

I am in MA Using the letter template, I indicate that I know that they are illegal in my state. I requested no calls to my home or business or work telephone and to communicate only in writing and cited the MA law.

I just spoke with a Patrick about help with PDL's from this site. Can anyone tell me if this is a good way to go, and are they legit. Anyone??? Should I do this?? And how does it work??

Can someone kindly direct me to the rules of this forum? I apparently made a post when I was a guest that came off as advertisement, and now I've joined and am a member....however I do not see "rules of the board" anywhere, or a sticky either? Please guide me? Or answer me this? Was I told I couldn't advertise (placed my companies name, phone number, and website) because I posted as a guest? And now that I'm a member is it allowed? Am I able to post a signature every time I post that includes those items now that I'm a member?
