We are now disabled and are now living solely on disability. My wife had a Target account that has gone unpaid. The first missed payment was January, 2009. In April, it was sent to one of their collectors who made very little effort to collect. They called a couple of times per month until June, 2009. At that point, a lady called and said they were going to sue my wife (she owes $3800.00). In early September, a lady called from the same collector to confirm that my wife had been served with a summons, which she had not.

I am new this forum and not sure where I should put this. Please advise if I am in the wrong spot, but I am wanting to help as many people. Found a website offering loans to everyone. Hi All! Another question in a seemingly endless litany of issues. I currently have been in contact with a CA collecting for InstantCashUsa. I've requested a DV and was told to log into my account with said company for a copy of the contract. Now I know I didn't sign anything- it was all done via the web. The CA is asking for more money than I legally owe. I've filled them in on KY state laws and their reply was"just because you see something on the internet and you want it to be true, doesn't mean it is". Aren't CA's supposed to send you something before they start calling?

The collection Agency for the Online Paydayloan company is threatening to contact my employer to garnish my wages. Can they do this? the company is Payday Customer Service on behalf of Arrowhead Investments.

I live in Pa. Where can I go to find out if a collection agency is licensed to collect in the state of PA? Thanks for all your help on this site!

I have a 2002 CA state tax lien that I just paid off in June. I am pretty sure it was released which I can see from the recorder of deeds web site). It had not been reflected in my credit report though as I was told this ususally takes a few months. I am planning to write a "goodwill" letter to the Big 3s and ask them to remove it from my report. I understand that might be a long shot as it could stay on for another 7 years since I just paid it. My questions are: 1. Other than the GW letter, what else do i need to attach to the letter? 2.

I have been receiving numerous calls per day from "unknown." I finally got so many of them that I blocked anonymous calls on my phone. However, assuming these are from a debt collector, will this make them more upset if I block them? I would hate for them to call my neighbors or friends. They almost never leave a message by the way. The one message that was left on the answering machine yesterday (after 11 unknown calls) was music playing and asking me to hold for a representative. The recording was a woman's voice with a British accent.

Did anyone hear about what's going on with TD Bank? People cannot get their money, checks are being bounced, their whole system is messed up.. it's so scary my savings is in there!

I just settled a credit card debt with a CA that bought my debt from the original creditor. The account was marked "Paid In Full" by the CA. Will this stay on my credit report for 7 years from the date I settled with the CA, or 7 years from the date of my last payment with the original creditor?
