I really have no idea what I am doing as far as this credit repair stuff goes and I am doing a lot of research right now. One thing I am sure of is that Cash Call is something I need to get rid of ASAP!!!!!! Here is my situation with them... Stupidly I get a loan with these guys a cpl yrs ago for $5000. I got into some serious financial problems after a divorce 2 yrs ago leaving me unable to pay a lot of my bills and basically destroying my credit. I received a letter a cpl weeks ago from Cash call, I thought, saying they would settle debt for lump sum of $xxxx or 6 "easy" payments of $xxx.

I do not understand something I heard, if you settle you pay taxes on what? If I owed $100 and it became $344 and then I 'settle' for $200, where does IRS come in? :cry: :shock:

I have been reading some of the posts on here and it looks like you all may be able to help me. I live in SC and have the following pdl's, all internet.

:roll: Once upon a time I used a Bank of America (ne MBNA ne...) credit card. Statements came in envelopes that did not appear to be what they were. I was late a number of times on payments and seemed never able to login to the internet site to make online payments. Then came a day I wanted to cancel the card. My customer care person dissuaded me saying, keep it, it has been around a long time, it will be good for your credit rating!!! I replied I did not intend to use it. Advised to destroy card for safety, I did. So now I have forgotten all about this card.

I am just wondering if anyone here defaulted with PayDayOne and has checked thier credit report to see if they are on it? I defaulted on mine and the payments they offered me were still too steep to keep up with. I'm planning to get them PIF next month if everything goes according to plan. I have not checked TranUnion or Equifax-I will in the next month or so. They are not on my Experian although they have reported the same loan charged off 2 different times on my teletrack.

My husband was served (today) with a summons for Breach of Contract-Deficiency due to non payment of credit card (Discover). Attorney for plantiff is Zwicker & Assoc. My husband has been out of work for approx 16 mos., leaving me as only provider of income that is less than half of what is necessary for housing, food and utilities. I was also served with duplicate summons as Jane Doe. My name has never been on my husband's account. What happens next? Will my credit be destroyed and will a court require my wages to be garnished? Could we loose our home?

It is very difficult for me to figure out the legal rate of interest that collection agencies are allowed to charge on a default credit card account. There is no contract or agreement that stipulates a default rate of interest to be charged. The account has been through so many different collection agencies then bought and sold etc... I can't figure out how these CA do thier interest calculations. How can I find out?

I need to send out a debt validation letter, as I am currently being sued by a CA, however, the summons does not show an address for this particular CA and before rcv'ing the judgement I never rcv'd any letters from this CA...I have rcv'd letters from other CA's on this debt, but not the one that is suing me...can I send it to the attorney representing this CA? If I'm sending to a lawyer is there a sample letter someone can guide me to, please?

I have a 2 HSBC cards 1 for $7100 and another for $1800. I am behind 2 months on both. how long till I contact with an offer to settle. At what % should I start.
