court summons for March 7th from Blitt&Gaines for Discover Card Debt of #3,350. A lawyer made a phone call and they said they would settle for $2,400. I had paid them 6,400 on $5,500 of purchases up until 2009 when i lost my job, but they will settle for $2,400 with 3 payments of $800. I never asked for a debt validation Can I still do this and fight this or do I just need to pay them. They did call my son in law and say he should tell me they had a business deal to offer me. Is this harrassment?

Received call today from the above so called law firm. I have not had calls for about a year. Have not called them back yet. Same garbage saying that I have to return call or they will send my case out to court. I just want to verify that these are bottom feeders and I do not need to pay any atteniton to them. Also, I have been receiving calls from CNU....another bottom feeder. Just when you thought it was all over, it starts all over again. By the way I am from Maryland. Geeez!!!

I owe 24/7 Greenstreet $888 (What I borrowed plus their fees). At the moment, I just don't have that to pay back! I wanted to set up some kind of payment plan each month, but they said I couldn't. She said that they wouldn't do a wage garnishment, but that they could actually go through my payroll department and take the $888 at one time from my paycheck. Is this true?

I have taken out several payday loans online in Maryland. I understand that pay day loans are illegal in Maryland. The fees are excessive and I am drowning in debt. In addition, there was fraud committed on my checking account and had to close out my account. I would like to settle/nullify some of these loans. Is there any advice you can give me to help me.

I made a payday loan at a storefront in Memphis, Tn. I had to close my account as I wasn't able to pay the monies back. A collection agency Isd called threatening arrest. I made payment arrangements & paid $103.00 dec.2012, $103.00 Jan.2013, $103.00 Feb.2013 for March 2013 I called asking to lower payment this month because of medical bills. They would not accept $25.00 & threatened me with arrest again. I stopped my automatic draft for this month & closed my account. What are my circumstances now? Are they going to be able to criminally charge me? Thanks

We owed taxes in 2010 and was set up on payment plan. In 2011 did not file. And due to stupidity will probably owe in 2012. Don't want a lecture, but does anyone know if IRS will still do payment plan if we file last taxes now? Please any advice...

A collection agency for a medical bill is charging me interest, is that lawful?

Got a phone call last week from a collection agency telling me I owed a Verizon debt from 2004, told him I never had Verizon. When I started to inquire about the debt from him he gave me an address of my ex-wife, I told him I never lived there and I've never had Verizon. Now, today in the mail I got a bill for over $600 for the debt that does not belong to me. There is no way to get a hold of anyone by phone, is there anyone that I can contact or anything I can do about resolving and not paying this debt because it is not mine.
