i had a signature loan with this company in 2004. now in 2009 they have turned it over to a collection agency of lawyers. i am in north carolina. Last activity on this account was in 2004. Do they have a case or can i claim NC SOL. I also can not find anything the current account number to which they say this loan is under. Do i have an recourse?

Has anyone used Oak View Law Group? I have been talking to them about pdl negociations but want to be really sure before I start paying them money.

I have requested DV from Ameriloan on 4 occassions one being certified letter. They have failed to do so. I advised them of my complaints to the BBB, FTC, CA AG, & to the CA Dept of Corporations for violating a Desist and Refrain order issued in 2006. After all this they still call me every day. What if anything else can I do to get them to stop calling?

When answering a summons for credit card debt , can you answer "neither affirm or deny" due to insufficient information?

Just wondering what percent you were able to settle for. Not sure if I'm getting a good deal or not.

If settling with GE Capital aka GE Money Bank make sure to get from them in your written settlement agreement that it is for a settlement in full, balance will be zero and that they won't sell off any reminder! I was in a settlement program and it was settled through that, but now GE has sold off the difference to LVNV. I am not in the settlement program anymore but they are going to try and help me by contacting the local law collection firm that they worked out the settlement with.

I realize I am opening myself up for ridicule/criticism here, but I feel the need for a little moral support. After months of struggling on my own with payday loan debt coupled with our regular debt, I finally came "clean" with my husband and laid it all on the line. Even though over the past several months I have paid off many small debts, including several payday loans, we still owe many bills.

I've found so many threads about Cach, LLC but not a single story detailing how someone has won against these people. Prior to getting into specifics, if this has already been addressed, then please someone post where I can find the thread. I am dealing with Cach now and can either file for bk or sue these guys for violating my rights. I have yet to see a story about someone who's actually won against them. I'm poor, just had a car voluntarily repo'd, owe the government a debt, and have no other options but to file bk or win against Cach.

I have run my annual reports. My bankruptcy is due to fall off in 2018 (just filed it) but the accounts that were included on my bankruptcy are still on the report with fall off dates of 2011 and 2012 etc. Why aren't they removed if they're on the bankruptcy?

I am trying to find out information about how to stop FIA Card Services aka Bank of America from taking money from my checking account. I don't have a checking account with B of A but I am worried FIA may try to steal money from my account because of a couple of cards I had to go bad on. I paid these two cards in the past from this account with a personal check. From what I have read they like to use fraudulent checks or electronic debits to upset balances in customers accounts.
