Asset Acceptance LLC

I started receiving calls in 2008 regarding a delinquent account at Bally's. i remember that the people had me sign some documents and i did not really pay too much attention because they just affirmed the "MONTH to MONTH" payments, never that i was going to FINANCE a gym membership. They did send me the contract i signed with them BUT i noticed that where it shows AMOUNT FINANCED there is no signature on or around this page at all.

I am unfamiliar with these kind of laws. I am getting mail about my dad's debts after he passed. I am not his executor just next of kin. Am I going to be slammed with his bills now?

Is 40% a good settlement with Chase?

17 years 2 months ago
I have an offer from Chase to settle on a credit card debt of $9000 for $3600. (40% of the balance.) Is this a good offer from Chase? If I take it I will have to pay it in 3 payments. Thank you

What if they won't send the agreement in writing? PLease can u help?

hello; I am in the process of settling some credit card debt and I have really learned a lot here - thanks to everyone! I have "settled" with 3 different creditors, all relatively at the same time. The problem that I am having is that all of these settlement deals have been verbal. All three companies have scheduled my first payment with them around March 20th through the 31st - about 10 days from now. All three told me over a week ago that I would receive a letter in the mail outlining the agreement. I have yet to receive any of these letters. I am getting nervous.

Items removed from creidt report

I was able to get quite a few items removed from my credit report through disputes with the credit bureus. Can the creditors put them back on if they were removed? Also can I use the fact that one report deleted an item to get it removed from another?

I think it may be to late for me. But a couple of month ago. I received a letter from Pressler & Pressler, they were taking me to court to a debt that I have with Capital One Bank, that North Star Capital Acquisition was now the owners of Capital One Bank. I have made several payments, but after reading other peoples complaint about Pressler & Pressler, how can I be so sure now if the money will go to Capital One Bank. Please advise, what you think I should continue to do. Any help will be greatly aprreciated.

debt consol. in Texas....

17 years 2 months ago
I'm looking for/asking for, help from people on this forum who have had experience with consolidating their debt in the state of Texas. I've looked into: " United Financial Systems Non-Profit Educational Organization" and found numerous complaints concerning them even though they are a non-profit org. I've also looked at/asked about several of the "for profit" co's that do DC and found them all lacking.... So; what have some of you on the forum found out about doing this in Texas?? I've decided to go with a government sponsored programme/company as they seem to be the most above board.

I'm almost debt free...

I had 10 cards and over 100k in debt. I had never been past due but was making the minimum payment. My attorney told me I could not file a Chapter 7 so I chose debt settlement. 30 months later I have 2 cards to go and I feel liberated. The information I learned here was invaluable. I also chose my settlement co based on reviews on this site and they did a great job!

Cash Advance Network

Hi, I had a Payday Loan from Cash Advance Network from Oct in the amount of 200. I paid 120 in Dec, and then in Jan I didn't pay anything. Well I got a call from a collections agency saying I owe them 365. I was scared because the lady kept saying she was going to record the conversation with me saying I wouldn't pay, so I gave her my account information to withdraw $50 in two weeks, then $125 two weeks after, then the rest two weeks after that. Well after research I found out that in the state of California, they weren't allowed to charge that much, AND I had already paid two 60 payments.
