I'm tired of all the calls, so am thinking of paying an attorney a retainer fee so that I can direct calls to them. I'm afraid it will speed up the process of them filing suit against me and I won't have the rest of the money to file bk for another month or so. Any suggestions?

My husband used my credit card and then got upset when this company unfairly raised the apr. This company was called several times but did not want to lower the APR. Now my husband wants to use pension money to due a 'settlement' but it will hurt MY credit score, not his. And if he does this, my other creditors use universal default so I may have to do the same settement with them as a result. HELP! I see my credit sinking while my husband's does not.

Hello, first time posting on here. I have a credit card debt about $5,000 on one card. I just got charged off maybe 2 weeks ago. Well I have $3,000 now to pay the OC. If i were to send that money to the OC and not the CA. What would happen? Because I still get bills from the OC, but i have the CA calling me trying to settle this debt. Any help would be great thanks. Luke.

I was fine paying off my debts last year until I started working for myself and having decide between my car note and paying bills. I have loans and credit cards that are out there plus a few bounced checks. I don't make enough money and I don't want to continue to rob Peter to pay Paul, Mary and Jane if you know what I mean. I thought about getting involved with Freedom Debt but I found that debt consolidation companies do nothing to help you with your debt.

I live in Louisiana and I have been owing back payday loans for about 4 months now. I was always getting calls from the Branch Manager at Advance America at least 2 times at work and 3 times on my cell. Well a few weeks ago, my fiance was home and she showed up knocking on the door for a few minutes and left a paper on the door with their phone number and a flier saying that they participate with the DA's office and how it's illegal and fraud and blah blah. Is she allowed to do that??

I have already got judgement from my ex on back child support, and the paper for garnisment is being deliveried tomorrow. How long will it be before I receive some money

Hi everybody, I just have a few questions and was wondering if anyone would have any insight! Here goes: I have unpaid tuition from a University that ended up going to a collection agency (AMO recoveries to be exact). However I had a bad experience dealing with them (I offered to pay $2100 of the debt and set up a payment plan for the rest of it which was only $400 - they refused saying I had to pay in full & that I would need to ask friends & family members to get the rest of the money!).

my parents have a morgage of which they did because they were in debt. they are in around somewhere between 6000- maybe 10k max i think its more 6-7. so i'm wondering if they would work do dept consolidation. A. would this affect the morgage meaning will they need a new morgage. B will this cost them anything up front the cost issue is because they really can't afford that because some things have come up one is medication and a few emergencys. they are just about a month behind on a few cards and might be 2 on one card (i'm not 100% sure.) the thing is interest is pretty high.

Hello everyone! I am new to this community and am very pleased to have found it. My question is im getting a 0 that shows up on caller id..is there anyway to trace who this is? Also I called credit solutions today and almost signed up but decided to do some research online first..thats when i found this site..long story short i didnt sign up with them and have decided to try debt settlement on my own. I only have one account in default right now but others will soon be. I need some advice on where to begin where to start etc.
