I am receiving letter regarding collections. How do I resolve this?

I live in PA and have a pdl with White Hills Cash. I owe them $355 principal balance. I sent them an email using the template. They are willing to accept the principal balance but want it in one lump sum payment. They are saying that they are not bound by PA or any state laws. They told me to do my research on sovereign enterprises. They said they will not accept the payment plan I made and that if I do not pay the lump sum they are going to report me to check data systems. They said I was willing to accept the money in one lump sum it is only fair to pay back in one lump sum.

I had a loan with Plain Green and thanks to this site I discovered it was illegal in my state. (Ohio) I sent them a letter and explained to them that I wanted my account settled in full and that the $600 I overpaid to be refunded to me due to the fact they were illegal. I received a response and they said my loan is considered paid in full but there was no mention of a refund. Do I keep asking them for the refund or do I just walk away with a very expensive lesson learned?

Hi All, Been reading this board non stop for about a week. I have 10 PDL's, 7 illegal and 3 legal in my state (Alaska). I have closed my account and sent the letters to the illegals and call the legals to wortk out an EPP. Cash Call sent a letter of validation right away. I owe $750 on the principal, and of course, their payoff number is over $2800. TWO QUESTIONS: 1) Is the Validation letter the same as a collection letter, and thus must be challenged within 30 days? 2) Should I actually call them in hopes they will settle on the principal only?

My son made an agreement with Discover Card to accept their hardship program, which would reduce his debt by 40%, at an interest rate of .99%. It is a 5 year program. They will send him a written agreement for these terms. My question is: can he trust them to abide by this agreement, or can they still raise interest rates at will, which would put him in the same financial boat or worse. Or will they abide by their agreement ---can he trust them?

Hey everyone i need some additional help here with these 2 companies, VIP loan shop and fast efunds. So i have determined that vip loan shop is not licensed in my state, which is California. Havent found too much on fast efunds but i got the loan from fastefunds through the vip loan ship so i am assuming its the same.

My D-I-L called from another state and said she had a message on her machine for my mother who passed away in June 2012. She gave me the info and I call this Mia Anderson with Sims & Assoc and she starts asking about a credit card bill for my Mom. I said I will need proof of debt including a complete itemized statement of account showing all charges and any fees that may be getting charged. She says we do not have that considering this is an account with the LAST PAYMENT being made in 1998. I said have you lost your mind?

how do i get an app sent to me?

I had a judgement placed on me about 6 or 7 years ago. Today I got a call from a new collection firm wanting to know why I've not complied with the court order. Ok what court order? Yes the judgement was placed but I've not heard anything since til today. I admit to sticking my head in the sand back then but today I've been cleaning up my act and paying my bills. This new company isn't the one who got the judgement against me why are they calling me and what do I do now? Thanks for any information you can share with me Kathy in Texas
