Back in early December, I successfully negotiated payment terms with Responsible Loan and PaydayOne (legal lenders in TX) and successfully stopped the interest on illegal loans from First America Credit and Plain Green, and am currently paying off the remaining principal only that I owe via money order. I also had loans with Western Sky/Cash Call and MyCashNow (both illegal in TX). I never received any response to my numerous emails/faxes to MyCashNow, except that when I tried to log into the online account it said I needed to contact Silver River Management.

I was wondering if Spotloan and Great Plains are legal in Georgia? I have a loan with each and I'm behind on payments. I'm not trying to get out of paying them, I am just looking for a way to stop them from calling my house and cell phone alllllllll day long. I don't have the money in my bank account and they are making me so overdrawn with all the bounce fees. I am waiting on my tax refund and gonna catch em up, but I'm still wondering, are they even legal in Ga?

I have a debt from a hospital that has since been reduced to zero per a financial statement that I had to complete with the hospital. I have several letters from the hospital stating that the account is at a zero balance. (This was from 2008) now all of the sudden my check is being garnished by this law firm. I have contacted them and faxed them copies of the letters. I have also contacted the hospital, which assures me that I do not owe anything. The law firm is refusing to give me my money back. Do I have any options?

Hi - i have several payday loans that I obtained on line. I live in the State of PA The lenders are Extra Funds, White Hills Cash, Sovereign Advance, and US Fast Cash. I have stopped payments on all the ACH withdrawls for the above companies and also sent email letters explaining that I became aware that online payday lending is illegal in PA and I will repay the principal amount borrowed only and only via money order. I requested to be contacted by email only and also asked for an address in which to send the money order.

I have been receiving calls from Boudreau & Associates for a couple of years now, I have sent Debt validation letters to them ( Certified and return receipt) and allI got was a one liner saying that they have permission from HSBC to collect the debt.The SOL has expired in 2008. I live in Fl. No dates, amounts, etc. Now they are saying they are going to take me to court. Should I be concerned? Thank you.

Hi - I had an online payday loan with White Hills Cash and placed a stop payment on my ACH transaction. I received an email from WHC stating that I would be reported to Check Data Systems. I am unsure what check data systems mean. Is this like Telecheck that is used at stores when presenting a check or banks when opening an account or is this something different. I am trying to get out of this payday loan mess that i am in and am using a lot of the valuable advise on this site. Thanks!

Asset Acceptance LLC basically does not have anything in written agreement form and stated that the written agreement was lost according to the small claims (civil lawsuit) filed since August 2012. No responsive pleading was filed by defendant and an entry of default was filed as of 12/26/12 by plaintiff. Therefore, the Jan. 28, 2013 court hearing was vacated further to July 2013. Defendant went to the local Pasadena Court on Jan.

This past Friday I received two voicemails - one at work and one on my cell phone. My boss also received one on his voicemail. They were from a man named Eli Jones who said he was calling because his "client was preparing to serve me papers at work" and he "wanted to give me a chance to talk with his client to make arrangements to avoid this" (he told my boss he was trying to get in touch with me in an effort to do this since police would serve me at work). He called from a blocked number. Never told me who he worked for, or who his client was.
