i'm being called daily by Northstar Location Svcs. the first guy who called me, on Nov. 13, said that they received my account from another CA. i negotiated a settlement amount with a CA on this account over 3 years ago, and, being younger and foolish, once it was paid, i got rid of all their info. now i can't remember who it was, all i have is the series of automatic withdrawals from my checking account, and my bank says they have no way of finding out who made the withdrawals.

I just tried to file a complaint with the DC BBB regarding an internet pdl company--the site linked me over to the BBB of the state where the company resides. Is that normal? Is there someone else I need to be contacting to help me resolve an issue? (I've contacted the DC AG's office and the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking)

OK, what do I do? I CAN NOT afford a lawyer, not at all! This is for my husband. Here is some info: -We live in New York. -We received a copy of a summons. Plaintiff is GMR Credit, LLC and the original creditor is Citibank, USA Circuit City. Summons states it’s from March 2006. -He called and verified with the court clerk that this is an actual summons. -With this summons was a letter from a law office stating that they “have been advised that service of a Summons and Complaint in this matter has been properly served pursuant to the Rules of the Court.

I have 8 pay day loans from the internet in Florida. If I close my bank account and reopen a new one, is there any way they come after me on criminal charges?

There have been several posts that have mentioned telling the pdl's when they call that you are recording the call. How would I do this - actually record the phone conversation - on my work phone and/or cell phone? Thanks for all your help.

I just received a very rude phone call from the manager at Nor-Star Cash. She said that I need to make payment arrangements to get my loan paid off, which I had NO ISSUE with, but she DEMANDED that I do it then and there or she was going to close my account out. She said that because I closed my checking account, that is a form of fraud and that her fraud department would be contacting me. I told her that I have every intention of paying the loan back, but she hung up on me. I do want to make arrangements, and have already paid around 180.00 on a 300.00 loan.

I live in Florida and have multiple payday loans that I'm in the process of terminating. I read on this forum a few weeks ago that if you send a letter to the pdl lender stating that you will be seeking debt counseling, you will then have 90 days to pay off the loan without incurring bi-weekly rollover fees. Is anyone here aware of what law that is? Thanks.

I just got a call from a "Miss Peterson" saying she from ARM representing Paycheck Today. Saying that I should seek legal rep. because they are going to legally seek action on collecting this debt. I was wondering if Paycheck Today is a legal or illegal payday loan. If it is a legal one, I will work with them. But if they are not they are just going to have to wait. I am in Wisconsin.
