I thought if you lived in ny state pdls can't take you to court? My pdl account was purchased by a private coll.aggent in ny state, they said if i don;t pay up the company will send me a 1099 form so i have to pay on my tax and possibly take me to court! what do i do?

I took out a payday loan 2 years ago from Advance America in Michigan. I was not able to repay when time came and was paying in small installments, then defaulted. Several months passed, and I occasionally was able to make a payment but still owed about $500. One year after the loan the company walked over a "copy" of my check (not the original) and presented it to my bank for payment. The girl honored this, even with the date being a year old. After I questioned this, they contacted Advance America and told them they would reverse this, since it was over a year old.

What are some of the good defenses for a debtor to use when a creditor has sued them. I've been making small payments on this debt, but they went ahead and sued me in small claims court anyway.

I owe about 25k to both and I'm 4 mos late on both. I only have funds to settle one. Which is easier to negotiate and settle with?

Has anyone had any experience with GC Services? And what they usually settle for? They are really being tough I have a very high balance with them and am trying to get it settled for 50% of the current balance with 12 payments. They keep going backwards on me every time I try to negotiate and I get the manager just to get beaten up. Now they say they will do 50% but only in six payments which I can not do. Any advice? account will be charged off soon.

We.ve been renting for 3 years form the same rental company, we've never been late or missed a rent payment. Do you know if when filing chapter 13 if they would have reason not to renew our lease? Thanks Reny

i have 5 pdl's IN SAN ANTONIO,TEXAS ACE....500 QWIKCASH.....800 CHECKNGO......470 CASHADVANCE.....800 EZLOANS.....1300 I THOUGHT BY GETTING ANOTHER LOAN I COULD PAY THEM OFF BUT I'M FINDING THIS TO BE VERY DIFFICULT TO DO..I HAVE BEEN PAYING THE INTEREST ON 3 OF THE PDL FOR ALMOST 2 YRS ANY ADVICE SO I CAN GET OUT OF THIS....IT'S SO HARD THAT I DON'T HAVE MONEY FOR UTILITIES AND GROCERIES JUST TO PAY FOR THESE PDL'S SHOULD I CLOSE MY BANK ACCOUNT AND NOT PAY. BY THE WAY HAS ANYONE HEARD OF LANGHORNEDEBTSOLUTIONS.COM IT STATES THAT THEY CAN HELP WITH PDL'S.

Hello, Today I just happened to find a summons in my junk mail. I almost missed it. First off I was not aware that a summons can be issued as such. It has on the back the methods used and check boxes for which one including posting to the front door, none of them are checked. Is this legal in VA? Secondly I sent a debt validation letter certified in Aug and all I got back was the original balance sheet. This was my wife's medical bill not mine.
