HI I use to Visit USA for 2 yrs on a contract off on basic...i had a SSN but didnot have a credit card...Now i have come down to US to get settled here. so I tried to buy a house.and those guys ran a credit report for me and found that there was some another SSn linked with my SSN and that there was some collection pending on this unknown SSN..what do i do? this is a new country and i am not very much sure abt the laws and ways to handle it. Pls help.

I can't pay the credit card i have with wells fargo and have switched banks. My checking account with them has $4.09 in it and i owe $3000 on the credit card. Should i close the bank account or does it really matter? Can they touch that account in general or does it matter because there is no money in there?

In my divorce I agreed to let my husband have the 2 timeshares and I would pay off the debt we had accumulated. I am trying to remove my name from the deeds but have been unsuccessful in doing so. Both are paid off...but he has not kept up the yearly tax&fee payments. If I do nothing and have it stated in my divorce and on public record that I am not responsible for his debt is that good enough to keep this off my credit history?

if a company offers me a debt settlement, and i accept does that look bad on my credit report. as opposed to paying in full, which i wish i could at the moment.

Ok in june i started with a debt consolidation company. I backed out at the last moment after negative feedback. From June til now October I have not paid my credit cards. I am in debt over $40,000. I now receive notices to pay balance or accounts will be in collection. Some accounts are already in collection. 2 cards have sent in lowered balances for me to pay. I went and got a 2nd job to get me out of this mess. I have been thinking about bankruptcy but I am not sure. I dont want to wait any longer and need some help. Should i go through with debt settlement? or bankrutcy?

Here is an update on my case with PDL Assistance. I submitted a complaint against PDL Assistance with the Better Business Bureau. After communication with Collin Holy, I was told that I would receive a refund on my account after my account was drafted without my permission. Well, I get a phone message and a letter from the Better Business Bureau that I would have to agree with the refund through the Better Business Bureau and then I would receive my refund.
