Hi - Is it legal for a PDL to debit your account once you have sent them a certified letter revoking that right? I am in Texas by the way. Thanks.

I currently have payday loans and today I received call from a company that stated tI was being taken to court tomorrow for non paying a payday loan. They threatened to contact my employers and made other threatening remarks. When I asked them the company name they said cash payday loan services and I asked for verification of the loan and they said at this point they did not have to supply that information. This supposedly happened in Sept. 2006. I asked for their company name and address. Their reply was Legal Affidavit Processing Unit in California.

They called my wifes cell phone trying to get in touch with me about a Chase CC that was charged off last year. I was recently released from a nursing home after having 2 strokes. Are these people the same as portfolio recovery associates? If they are the same, I sent Portfolio a DV and CD letter several months ago and have never heard back from them. Should they be contacting me without providing the validation? Should they be contacting my wife since I told them to cease calling any of my relatives, neighbors, or friends?

Hi guys!! I had a few questions in regards to being served. This morning I had two women come knocking on my door. I didn't recognize them and thought they were solicitors so I didn't answer the door. Later I had the thought that maybe I was being served. Would it be normal for two people to serve a summons? She started getting crazy calls from NCO Financial. They were calling all the time! I finally sent them a debt validation letter and also requested, under the Fair Debt Collection Act, that all further communication be in writing and no phone calls.

Hi everyone. I've not been on here in quite some time. I just didn't have any updates. I'm still dealing with the PayDay Loan mess I got myself into over a year ago. As of today, I was finally able to reach an agreement with another of them. No refund, of course, but they did agree to mark the account "Paid In Full," although they still state they do not have to be licensed in the State of Indiana because they are an Internet lender. Don't give up if you're in a mess. I'm still demanding "PIF" letters and refunds from several of these payday loan companies.
