Hi Forum, Awhile back you gave some great advice for me to answer a summons. I did that and received only one phone call from the plaintiff's attorney on the answering machine and never another, no letters, nadda. Since then, I noticed that they lied on the summons about the Statute of Limitation date. Is this typical. Will this help me in court when I show the date of the last payment to the initial creditor? Since then, NCO tried to con me. They called and gave me an offer of 2,000 settlement. I asked how could they settle with me if they were suing me.

I finally told my Husband

I finally told my husband of my payday loan stupidity. He was so upset and man did he let me have it. I hate keeping secrets from him but this one, I felt so dumb, I could not tell him. I am now drowning in fees and crap and I had to tell him. It was making me sick. Well after he cooled off- he said we are going to straighten this out. I do feel he is now going to question if I am holding things from him but hopefully, we can get pass this and I think we will. Has anyone else found themselves in my position?

Already ringing the phone off the hook..

I have 1 CC account that is about maybe 10 days late. Last month I was 2 days late and my interest rate went from 2.99 to 24.99, minimum payment went from 109 to 254. I can't make it. I have been to their website to apply for hardship, with no avail. I have e-mailed their collections department about it and have received no reply. Now my phone is ringing off the hook. I guess I will have to answer it sooner it later but right now I am wanting to send some sort of letter to them. Can some one suggest a letter? Thanks

Has anyone ever heard of them? They are threatening to garnish my check for $2500 for a $325 loan from Summit Group. I am sending my revocation letters and I want to know how I should handle them? Summit is illegal in Illinois and so far I have paid $300 in interest. Thanks!

Hurricane Gustav check-in.....

17 years 8 months ago
hey all, I had to evacuate today--we packed up the kids and the dog and ended up in Little Rock, Arkansas. The hurricane is supposed to make landfall pretty close to our house, so it wasnt a question of if, but when to leave. Anyone else had to take off, or planning to? Post up in here so we can keep track of everyone. We're planning to spend at least a few days here, long enough hopefully to see what the next storm, TS Hannah, is planning to do. If that one goes into the Gulf, we're gonna be hanging out here for that one too I guess.

I am hoping to do this on my own, bt not I am afraid that I will end up worse off than I already am.....is it possible truthfully to settle on my own without getting sued? Please help!
