Here is my situation. I had a credit card with Newport News in the early 2000's. I was behind on my payments and I called and got a payoff amount and mail them their last payment with a cashiers check. My check was dated 7/3/02. It cleared the bank of 7/17/02. Also, included with my payment was a letter that my account per our conversation would be paid in full. On April 16, 2008, I received a call from Mann Bracken, LLC regarding this matter. I faxed them a copy of the letter and check and thought this was taken care of.

Jst got a call fromm 888-622-0222. They were very rude and told me if I did not pay my debt that Texas has a "stipulated judgment law" where I can have 100% of me paycheck taken 2 times a year. Is this true?

Recently opened an account with a Credit Union that doesn't use chex. I ordered checks from the bank and today I get them. DELUXE Checks! Since they don't use them do you think they will close my account? :oops:

I'm currently not late on any of my bills, but I just lost about 60% of my self employed income. I want to request a "Hardship repayment plan" before I cannot meet my payments (like next month) . Which department do I send the request to? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks

Does anyone know what collection agency Huntington National Bank usually sends bad checking accounts too? I got a notice today that FINALLY they closed our account and sent it to a collection agency and that I would be hearing from them soon. I just wondering who I'll be "working" with:) Also do you know if collection agency will take dmp? I need to put this debt with Town and Country or try for a settlement, do you think they would settle? Thanks Reny

Does anyone know if Mortgage companies will will work with you on a Temporary Hardship proposed repayment plan? I have multiple Mortgages with the same company, or is it just a waste of time asking?

Hello Everyone, I've done the research. I've talked to the OFI in Indiana and as of today we've spoken to the bank and closed our account. The gal at the bank, while not a manager, was quite helpful and had heard our story before. One major difference in ours is, we've closed the account before the PDL debits could take anymore of our cash and our account wasn't in the negative numbers. I've got he C & D letter ready and I think I have the addresses to send them off to. Here we go!

I live in Mississippi. I have 7 internet payday loans. I am going to stop payment on them tomorrow in the am. I have signed up for debt settlement help with this website. I am so worried that the companies can bring legal action against me. Has anyone from Mississippi dealt with this bad a situation before. HELP!

(defaulted) Check N Go $1860.00 ? The ones that I have defaulted on were due June 27, and are coming due again next Friday, the 25th. I am going to close my bank account as I have already opened another one at a different bank. I cannot stand this downward spiral I am in.

Ok, I have been previewing this site for a couple of months now and have implemented many of the suggestions. Now I need some more specific help related to my PDL loans. I enrolled with PDL Assistance about a month ago; however, I realized I may still pay too much back on them in their program when you include their fees. I have already closed my checking account and have opened a new account at another bank. My PDL's are all internet and looking at previous post all but one is registered in California.
