I've asked for advice recently but still am soooo confused! My husband has two storefront pdl's plus some internet ones. I'm thinking of closing our account and just trying to work with these places but I'm scared of getting in trouble over bad check charges. The two storefront places won't work with us and they just say that they HAVE to put the checks through on the due date and if they get returned we have to go in and take care of them.

Has anyone heard of the Fairhaven Law Group out of Santa Ana, CA as a debt relief agency?

i revieved a email from them today and they say they are located in nevada. but when i looked up the number on the BBB it came back with this. Jessie is on of the people that emailed me. i think they are saying that the are in nevada beacause of the lax laws there. if you look at the laws for kansas city mo they are much more strick.

two of the payday loan companies I went with offered me installment loans are these classified the same as an pdl. I wasn't for sure what the consolidation companies consider that as. Thanks Angie

Can a company that is a cso..threaten you with going to jail, having the d.a. issue a warrant for your arrest? Or is this a civil matter where they have to sue you in a court of law? I have been trying to find more info. For the consumer on this subject. But getting dead ends! Any suggestions or answers???

I had a payday loan collection agency send 2 postcards at different times stating that I owe a debt and the amount. I know this a violation of the fdcpa, who should I contact? Do I contact the FTC and my attorney general? What do I do?

I have so far paid $429.00 for a $250 loan. I am told there will be another payment coming out for $279.00. I never signed a contract, on request they finally sent me a contract that says I electronically signed, which I didn't. I submitted my information on line for a loan, and next thing I knew there was $250.00 deposited into my account, I didn't even know where it came from, but this site helped me find out by what was written on my bank statement. How do I stop another payment from coming out without closing my bank account? I live in Pennsylvania if you need to know that. Thanks

My sister is going to file bankruptcy as soon as she gets her paperwork together this week...I have a question she currently has a wage garnishment coming out of her check...what does the following mean: Federal non-bankruptcy law limits how much of your pay can be taken for collection purposes. Most state laws also cover this and may offer more protection.
