I have 6 payday loans, 3 I have made payments towards and 3 I haven't made a payment to yet. I have closed my bank account on the advice of PDL Assistance, a company I have paid $200 to in order to settle my loans. They did not initially inform me that they could not settle with the companies I have not made payments towards. Now, having closed my bank account, I have missed initial payments to them. Is there anything I can do about this? Does anyone know if PDL Assistance is legit?

My employer just received a fax from Paramount Recovery Services asking for verification of my employment. He knows of my financial troubles but does not want them contacting the office. The request gives no personal information and does not say it is from a collection agency. I don't know what bill or credit card this is regarding. What can I do so that they do not contact my employer again? Should we respond to the fax? Thanks for any help.

Hi I am in Illinois and have two payday loans out. I went to the Illinois site to see if they were legal, but not sure how to find them. Do I looking under Banks and Trusts? So maybe someone here knows if they are legal or not. The first one is FastBucksNow, who have changed their name to paydayflash. (There is a FastBucks who is with the BBB so maybe there was confusion and they changed their name, who knows) The other one is Nationwide and I think they dba Ambassador. I want to send cd letters, but need to find out first if they're legal. Thank you

I have seen this a number of times in reference to CA and payment of a debt.

Trustco Bank was listed on the list of non check systems banks that the wonderful MCA put together. As I am a customer of theirs, I went in to ask a question and saw they now have little cards that say "all new accounts are verified through check systems". I didn't ask for details, but just thought I would point this out. The question is, if they are verfiying all new accounts, will they run old accounts through it? I have an almost 2 year history with them and there have been no issues with my account, but I show up in EWS. Should I be worried and looking for a new bank?

I know bankruptcy can stop any lawsuits or judgements, but does the automatic stay apply if you had signed a settlement letter that was filed with civil court? Especially if the letter stated that all cease and desist letters must stop.
