I live in California, and the law here allows me to send a cease & desist letter to the original creditor. Since Advanta is calling me DAILY, I asked them today for an address to send a CD letter to. Their response: Advanta doesn't cease & desist. My response: Advanta is not required to obey the law? Their response: We're not required to obey the law in someone else's state. Is that true??????????

Hello All, Ok I received a notice from these people Aug of last year. A sheriff notice served me and explained I needed to respond in 20 days. I live in PA. 2 days later I filed my response in court stating I did not know who there are and wanted proof I owned this debt. I also sent the letter cmmr to their office as well. I never received anything back to date. Now I am being told they have on file a judgment on me from July??? of last year. How is that possible if I was served in Aug? Can anything be done about this?

Lars in the Real Girl. This is a tragic tale that has a happy ending. Lars is a very nice emotionally troubled man who doesn't have the ability to connect with other people. Shortly into the movie he learns from a coworker about "real dolls" from an adult website and eventually orders on. Not for any nefarious reasons as Lars's girl is very religious and a missionary. His family and community are at first unsupportive in this unhealthy attachment to the doll but everyone soon shows their support quickly. I give this movie a B. Dan in Real Life.

I have not been on in awhile and need help with something-I live in NJ. I signed up with Oak View Law Group(OVLG) for some of my PDLs and had received a letter from ACA Recovery(for PayCheck Today) giving me 30 days to respond to a debt they state I owe for $805.00. I got a loan for $300 and paid back $975.00 and then got another loan for $500 and paid back $150.00.

My main bank account is with a creditor I am including in my bankruptcy. Do I have to worry about my bank account being closed as well? I am not "negative" and have been happy with their checking service.

I was contacted via e-mail by an original creditor to pay a debt or set some sort of arrangement up and I was told to set it up by the end of the day on 5-22-2008 and so I did resond via e-mail to set something up and to find out where to send the payments. I have yet to hear something babck but I do still have both e-mail's to and from them. Would I be able to use that for my sake if they try and send it off?

Hi, I wrote a goodwill letter to Citibank and they responded by asking me to send my credit report to them. Is this standard practice? I would think they would be able to access it without me having to mail it..... Also, do I send the whole thing or just the items in question? Thanks!

Does anyone have an email contact for someone specific at Loan Point USA...I have emailed customer service and I keep getting the same reply...call. I have two PDL left...them being one and the other is quickest-cash-advance....i only owe $100 more to each...however, when I contacted Loan Point last week to see what my balance was...they told me and I never received a paydown form like i usually do every other week in my email. i emailed them asking why...is it because i want to pay it off and you are trying to scam more money out of me? then i get the call email reply.

I READ SOMEWHERE THAT A COLLECTION COMPANY THAT FILES SUIT HAS TO DO SO ,,,IN THE CITY THAT YOU ORIGINALLY SIGNED THE APPLICATION..... iS THAT CORRECT ?????
