what happens to my house?

18 years 2 months ago
Hello, Glad to find this site. Long story short...I converted to a 7 from a 13 and just had my meeting of creditors for the chpt. 7. Was informed that I would receive my discharge in a couple of months...yeehaw!! My question is this, in the chpt. 13 on my late payment was included (for my mortgage). I was current on the 1st and the 2nd. Meanwhile, I could not afford the 13 payments hence the conversion. Will the 1st and 2nd come after me if they don't get what is owed on the house? Or, will they be included in the 7? Left messages for attorney still waiting for response.

Anything?

18 years 2 months ago
Ok.. Kind of long story but here it goes.. I was living in the bad part of town and someone stole my mail a couple of times, well one of those had my credit card payment in it. This card was thru bank of america and was interest free if my payments came in, obviously that payment didn't make it there and I was unaware of that until the next month. By that time my payment was to a point I couldn't pay. Long story short is that I used the credit card to pay the bill for a few months and it ended up maxing my card out.

Negotiate a settlement on our own?

18 years 2 months ago
We are 80,000 in (unsecured) debt and are looking into bankruptcy and the company Credit Solutions. I am thankful that I read on here that Credit Solutions is a rip-off. We were close to signing with them this weekend, but the consultant was just soooo pushy about getting us to esign FIRST and ask QUESTIONS later that it sent up red flags and we held off. Now my question is, can I negotiate myself with the credit card companies? If so, what are the steps, how do I do it, anything I need to know? Is it successful? Should we just go bankrupt?

Westbury Ventures threatening criminal prosecuiton

18 years 2 months ago
I got a call today from Westbury Ventures, it went something like this: "Joanna, you can keep your little money. I have mailed letters to your home and you refuse to acknowledge them. So you can keep your money and I will have our atty's file criminal check fraud charges against you in your state of KY" I have been getting TONS of emails from this jerk. Everytime I get one I say "send the DV". He refuses to send me debt validation. The only thing I receive is that same form letter with MoneyGram info on it over and over.

Another Questions about Credit Solutions

18 years 2 months ago
Anyone out there enroll with credit solutions and have any of there accounts not settled. Like I have said in the other post, I had 2 accounts that were going to court and I ended up setting up a payment plan with them because I did not have the funds to settle them at this time. So, anyways, now I am paying credit solutions for these two accounts that can not be settled. Anyone try to get their money back and if so how did you go about doing it. Thanks

Help.... few questions... looking for a DMP

18 years 2 months ago
Looking for a debt management program... I am not a big fan of the debt negotiation places after all the reading I have done. A few places I have seen are consolidatedcredit.org and moneymanagement.org (CCCS) .... anyone worked with them? I am doing my research and they both seem legitimate... although consolidated wants $717/mo for 48 months. I am bringing about $26k in unsecured debt into the program I will join. Consolidated told me that they can reduce my interest to 7% for 4 years with the creditors I have.

Being sued ..please help

18 years 2 months ago
Hi Everyone - Glad to see there is a forum like this. I had my baby girl back in July, and went on maternity leave, that same week my husband was laid off. I had some slight complications so I was on leave longer for medical reasons so for most of the summer we were coasting on my benefits to pay for rent and our car note. I had a personal loan with American general I was 30 days late paying but did manage to pay just late, then the following month there was a delay in receiving my benefits so we fell behind in rent - that of course comes first so I couldn't pay them in Sept.
