Reality check

18 years 2 months ago
Let me stick my two cents in here. From what I have found and my experience with payday loans and debt is one thing if you dont have the credit or the income, DONT DO IT! But too late for that as I found out the hard way just like you. MY credit was above average and I was maxed out and needed some cash and got caught in payday loan trap. Since then my credit has been on a steady downhill tread and bills stacked up while these PDLs collected there fees. The truth is though that there is a way out. It took only two months for me to drown in them.

Capital Management Services, LP

Just got a call from 716-871-9050, which turns out to Capital Management Services, LP. They didnt leave a message and I havent gotten a letter so no idea what this is about (meaning which credit card they are trying to collect on). Looked them up on Bud Hibbs site...not good. Any words of wisdom or anything I should be wary of outside of the normal tactics?

Cold Turkey PDL withdrawal

18 years 2 months ago
It was Christmas Eve and my debit card had a balance of zero. I needed paper towels and coffee and other necessities. I also would have liked a nice bottle of wine to go with dinner which consisted of a roast chicken and sweet potatoes because a Turkey was not within budget. Here I was going through a box of old store receipts hoping to find a buck or two mixed in with them because I know my own pocket disorganization. Sure enough I came up with six bucks. Enough for the coffee and towels. You have no idea how much I wanted the day before to go on line and take out a payday loan.

Whats your New Years Food Tradition?

18 years 2 months ago
I thought I would beat Volley out of the gate on this. Growing up in NJ my Father was primarily Irish and my mother was mostly Dutch. At midnight on New years eve they would eat pickled herring and usually have roast pork of fresh ham on New Years Day. My tradition has remained the same but more Champagne is consumed on the Eve and mimosas and bloody Marys are added to the day one mix. New Years Eve is also my birthday so I have a tendency to celebrate double. What are your New years traditions? I know some people eat cabbage as a sign of cash and in the South its Hoppin' John in some places.

E Loan Student Loan TV Add

18 years 2 months ago
There has been an add running on National TV lately that is directed to students that are aready in college and may need extra money for additional expenses. Up to 40K per year and no payments until after graduation. This to me looks like a snare waiting to be sprung. How many students will consider partying part of their additional expenses. The add say you will get the money with in a week. After graduation they will have not one but two loans to pay back which could total their entire paycheck for years. Anyone have any knowledge of E-Loan and how they operate?

Ex NFL Player owns Payday Loan chain

[quote]For Ex-NFL Player, Payday Lending is a New Life Former pro football player Willie Green had a career in the National Football League that could easily be described as “illustrious.” The former receiver, who played for three other NFL teams before settling down with the Denver Broncos for the last two years of his eight-year tenure in the League, has two Super Bowl rings and a proud playing career that has followed him into retirement.
