I have a medical condition. Hypertension. I go to the clinic often, I have told them many times I can't afford medical services. When I speak with a medical social worker, she feels that I can afford. My husband recieve Social Security and a annuity. He drives truck part-time. These folks have ruined my credit. At one time I had Blue Cross and Blue Shield, they cancelled me after I had a hysterectomy. They stated this was a pre-exsisting condition. This was un-true. Most women will experience this in their mid 40's. How can I get these collections off my credit. I filed a DK over 40,000 med.

Hello all, I'm back. I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to read the replies. Well I closed my bank account and I do need advice on what to do next. So far no one has called me about owing the money but I'm sure iI will get harassing calls soon. Should I send them all letters or just call and try to make arrangements? I'm not sure what to even say. Can someone please help?

Can anyone recommend a good place to get a regularly updated 3 in 1 credit report? I currently am subscribed to Bank of America Privacy Assist. They are supposed to alert me if an inquiry is made on my credit report. However, the last time this happened they didn't alert me and I didn't find out about this inquiry until a month later when I got my quarterly update. That's my other problem. Is there anywhere I access my credit report so I can see changes every week, for example.

Maybe some of you remember that I received a summons to small claims court last month from HSBC. My contention was that, yes, I owed them some money but they refused to respond when I sent a certified letter stating that I wanted to bring my account current. Well we sat at a table in a back room with a mediator and the lawyer said that they wanted 600.00 plus court costs and attorney fees. I said why should I pay the court costs and attorney fees when they could have settled this without going to court and showed him the letter with the confirmation.

After getting harassed at work again by these people and being told that I could not pay by money order, I sent a certified letter to the president of the company and the collections manager complaining about their tactics. I received a settlement offer of 25% of the original amount by mail. It was mailed before my sent letter was received. In other words the two letters crossed in the mail. It stated that I had to pay the amount within 7 days of the date of the letter or I would be turned over to a third party collector. Of course the letter was dated seven days ago. What to do next?

I closed my checking account & emailed a letter & a copy of my state laws to one of my pdls. Now they are sending me a email from their collections dept saying that I am committing fraud. They said that since i signed a contract that I was obligated to the loan, but I didn't even have to sign anything. It was all done over the phone. Anybody have any advice?

Hello - I live in NYC and wanted to get some advice. I had a run in with Asset Acceptance a couple of years ago and it really got ugly! They called my home and work with harassing calls. They left a nasty message on my home answering maching and also lied to my admin to get me on the phone at work. I sent them a letter and called for them NOT to contact by phone and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I recently found that they ran a search of my credit profile and got some past credit card amount (from the early 90's) that I didn't even know about.

Geneva Roth Mischele just called me to inform me I was in default with my pay day loan and I need to pay $330.00 on my $300.00 loan at which I have paid $465.00 so I proceeded to tell her I have sent them 3 different letters a CD letter a withdrawal revocation and a withdrawal letter regarding wage garnishment she then went on to tell me they can give me 3 ways to pay this off.
