I haven't been on in a while, but low and behold, I get another wierd phone call from Carmen Pallard with Bass & Assoc from 877-281-2220 telling me to have my attorney give her a call back. Now anytime I hear that statement I naturally assume that this is one of those scamming companies that have no right dealing in collections, but I just want to make sure? If anyone out there has dealt with them, please let me know what you think? I have been burned once on paying a company that wasn't legit at all and I hate to do it again!

I rec'd a phone call last week at work from midland credit management seeking payment on an account they referred to as an Associates MasterCard. I have never owned such a card, but she claimed I made a payment in 2004. After she read me my social and I verified, she said she would mail me the information. What I received was a statement that listed the original creditor as ASSOCIATES and the original account number.

Has anyone had trouble with a company called Cash Advance Now, even after you have paid off the payday loan. I paid them off in September 2006 and today I recieved a phone call by someone from Capital Collections claiming I owe them money.

Good Morning, I just wanted to know if a item that has been removed from my Equifax file is still showing up on Experian and Trans Union. Is it my understanding if an item has been removed from a consumer's credit file they also need to report to the other credit reporting agency. Thanks in advance. -Julia-

Hello All, First off, let me start by saying this is my first day at this site. I was just sitting around and browsing and ****.. I came across this site. I think its terrific. I have worked for several years in the financial industry i.e. debt settlement firms,collection agency,mortgage lenders. I know how hard it can be to get good advice. I am a very straight forward person and I happen to, for some reason live,eat,breathe and sleep resolving debt situations. So, if anyone is looking for some non-partial advice, let me know.

Molly Ivins, one of the best political columnists I have ever read, and a proud daughter of Texas, died yesterday from breast cancer. Her column was always run in my local paper on Thursdays and I couldn't wait to read who or what Molly was taking to task. You always had a smile after reading Molly. I know that she and Ann Richards are having a drink at the bar in heaven right now--and Art Buchwald is also there!

He has some bills that have not been paid in 8 months as he don't have any extra money. He now has a tax return that will pay about 1/2 of the bills. How would he settle with the hospital? They have an in house collections department and have already sue him but there is nothing for them to take except for a judgment on his paycheck which would put his family on the street. Any pointers??
