Is debt consolidations a good idea

Do Creditors look at Medical debts differently than other types of debt? I have several Medical collections on my credit report.Approx.$1,200 how is this going to effect my credit report and score ??????

I am trying to rebuild my credit and would like to obtain information on Aspen Master Card. Any infomation will be so appreciated.

Can I tell a debt collector that I am filing bankruptcy or what should I do. These people will not leave me alone. I have not sent a debt validation letter not a cease and desist - I will have to work on these this weekend. AMO Recoveries picked up my volunteer repo of my Harley which is the reason for my bankruptcy. It is going to take a couple of months for the bankruptcy to be put in place, paperwork, money, etc. Any suggestions? I have tried to work out a payment plan and they are not working with me at all.

Does anyone know anything about the reputation of this company?? I am getting ready to go into debt settlement with them and was wondering how reputable they are?? I know they should be okay but I am scared to death and nervous when it comes to signing anything and paying out money....Any info would be great!

I would love to become debt free. I am 23 and trying to finish my schooling to achieve a degree and work to still be able to live. With going to school full time, I was unable to work, therefore, I took out a student loan for school, but ending up racking up debt on a few credit cards for expenses that came up while being in school. I currently am going to school, but also work part time, to excess myself to money, but living pay check to pay check is not fun. Also, paying the minium payments on my credit cards and not touching the principal is very stressful.

I have been contacted by this company at my job. They told me that they are sending my paper work to DC at 2:30 pm with an warrent for my arrest am I wrong but, are they not a collection agency can they do this?

My husband and I were called by someone asking for us to pay a phone bill that his ex-sister-in-law ran up in 1999.The bill is for $458.93 but they want us to pay $698.23.How can they do this?

I keep getting calls to my home phone from this company looking for a person related to the previous owner of my house...which has been my house for over 5 years now. How does this company gets a phone number of a private residence that is no longer the residence of a person, and thus obviously a different phone number? Seeing all the posted messages makes me think you are doing something illegal...could be considered "harrassment" in your attempts to locate people.

I've been collection calls from (602) 597-4625. Does anyone know what the name and address of this collection agency is? I want to send them a Cease and Desist letter in the mail, but I need their address, and I don't want to talk to them, because I don't want to give them any information about me that they can then turn around and use against me later on.
