hi i got 30000 in credit cards. i spoke with my credit card companies and few of them got me a hardship program that helps me a little bit but to do nothing it is going to take years to pay i off. i alredy spoke with credit consolidation company and they weren't able to help me becouse my budget for all the creditors is500$monthly and he said that i need 700$ which is impossible for me !! aany suggestions that i can do? how about settlment/ any companies that you would recomened? thank you for your help!!!

Just in case, if i dont really pay anything @ all after receiving them what willhappen to me. do i get sued? but i sign the contract agreement? behind bars? if the amount is so large can i make a promisory note to installment ? i heard that there are no people get behind bars for debt. can anyone tell me about this?

I was doing ok with my credit cards because I had some good deals at 1.9 or 2.9 % apr for the life of the loan. I had a few bad months went over my limit and my apr jumped to 24%. Chase has not been willing to lower the rate so I have been struggling ever since. I have rental property and my tenants were late with some rent payments because their case workers screwed up the paper work. I am still waiting on money from DSS for my tenants. So the government messes me up on one end and Gargantuan Banks like chase mess me up on the other - who is looking out for me?

i got a call from rmg demading i pay them for a bad check or there going to send it to the shriffs office.. is this a collection agency or a acaull attorny?

Anyone delt with them? I had a $300 limit and things happened was not making payments. Its in collecions now for $625 and a collections agency says that I will have to pay $98 each month in late fees and an extra $50 on the balance. Its already doubled and they want more. I know this has to be violating somekind of usery laws regardless of what I may have signed.

does anyone know if united legal and 1st credit of america are licensed in minnesota to collect.. i know united legal went quiet after sending a validation letter and 1st credit are like to enigizer bunny they keep going and going.. that i had to change my number..anyone know anything?

I couldn't stop posting here. The regular members and few guests are now becoming very good financial advisors. It's hard to believe for a moment that such people went through debt problems. They say, people learn from experiences and correct by rectifying their mistakes in the past. So true.. Well, can debt counseling be a second job? Just thought for a moment.

Hi again. I was finally contacted today by Superior debt relief and they explained how their consolidation program works but didn't offer any other options for me. To be fair though, I don't know if there are any other options to offer really, I just know that I'm not really on board with the idea of trashing my credit for 3 years to make it better in the end. I was especially not thrilled to find out that SDR can't help me with my biggest credit card problem-AMEX Blue and the 30% interest rate they are screwing me with because I was late with my payment by 4 days twice.
