General Debt Advice

18 years 11 months ago
I am in the process of trying to get myself out of this mess. My credit rating is good and I am making all of my payments but all of my money goes out the window to debts that I have accumulated. I would like to consolidate to lower my payments thereby seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I DO NOT WANT TO FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY. I am a home owner with a small amount of equity in the home but not enough to cover my whole debt. I know nothing about loans and need some advice on which way to turn. After reading some of the posts on the forums this seems to be the right place to ask. Thanks

Has anyone actually recovered their deposit from CrediCure? If you Opt Out of your consolidation w/ CrediCure via RAB did you get your money (less deposit) back? IE the last two months that have NOT been paid? Thanks!

Settling vs. Paying

18 years 11 months ago
I have been in a debt counseling program since 2/2004, and have less than a year to go. One account, however, has been charged off by the original credit company, and has switched companies several times. The original debt was $3200, and I have paid nearly $2900 on it, but they are now saying that I have additional $1500 in interest and fees so I now owe about $1900. They offered me a 65% settlement on this account, which I could possibly afford.

Help! Need advice Please! Urgent!

18 years 11 months ago
Some time ago I posted about how I had paid off one of the two payday loans. United cash loans have the accounts. I posted how the person handling the account was helpful. However, I'm really scared now. As I was unable to meet a verbal agreement to pay the second one, I explained to them in a phone conversation that it took all my financial resources to pay off the first debt.

How do I make it stop!

In August of 2004 I received a letter from Merchant's Credit Guide stating their client, Asset Acceptance, stated I owed $4,556.82 and that the original creditor was Citibank. I sent a debt validation letter in response and heard nothing. In February of 2005 I received a letter from Commonwealth Receivables stating I owed $4,187.17 and the creditor was Marine Midland. Again I sent a debt validation letter and heard nothing. In December of 2005 I recceived a letter from Benntt & Deloney stating they represented Asset Acceptance and I owed a debt to Citibank. Another debt validation letter.

2 Credit cards

18 years 11 months ago
I recently got a motorcylce financed through polaris and suzuki. They both approved me for credit card loans. Unfortunately they mailed the bills to my home of record not at my physical location. Ended up getting monthes behind and suffered several late fees. Due to this error by the company, I was not able to payoff the total amount due, and continue to suffer more and more late fees. As well, when i attempted to pay by electronic check over the phone with the company, some how the checks got sent back, saying there was insufficent funds in the bank. This i knew for a fact was not true.

Contact Information

I work with a settlement company and from time to time they are required to payoff debts of persons buying or refinancing a house. I often do not have contact information for the companies. I have the debtors name, ssn and usually account numbers. Right now I have someone with their lender showing a debt to "WFNNB/Lerner" and a "State Tax Lien" to Florida... Any help in contacting these entities?

Spam thoughts....

Seems that we have been getting POUNDED lately with the nothing better to do spammers. How about a way to defeat them? My thought - they are all unregistered (l)users. How about forcing unregistered usernames to enter a code to allow their post to display? The good chance is that most spammers are using a program to post their crap. If we were to initialize a code program that is a graphic, it would slow them up. Similar to the code you have to enter when you create a Yahoo email account or other entries like that. And for registered users, no code.
