Is there a $$ amount that works as a guideline for filing Bankruptcy? Also what types of debt fall under the bankruptcy? :?:

I recently joined and am trying to make a new start for the New Year with my debt and credit problems. I have never owned a home but have tons of other debt Any suggestions on where to start with debt consolidation. How do you know when it is right. :cry:

I don't know why I put myself in such a panic with mypaydayloan.com today. The guy just irked me on the phone. I'm not running away from the debt. I am trying to do the right thing and pay the debt through my consolidation company. My counselor will get ahold of them and go from there. I also receive a voice mail from someone else in their collections department trying to verify the debt consolidation company's phone number. I left it on their voice mail. I'm glad I contacted the FTC today to find out they do have to abide by my state laws.

my first post, im 22 and im currently a painter making 1300/ month.I currently have some debt that i need help working out. My story is this. i have a auto loan for 10k which i pay 194/month. i have a credit card of 3k, another credit card with 500 and another with 500. on top of this i have other bills, insurance, phone.... I wrote to the FTC regarding Asset Accetance and here is their reply... This is in response to your recent complaint to the Federal Trade Commission. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act prohibits unfair, deceptive and abusive practices by independent debt collection agencies. It gives you certain rights against such agencies and applies regardless of the circumstances of the debt.

Does debt consolidation affect your credit if you have good credit when you start.

Okay, since I've been having problems with mypaydayloan.com. If they reach a payment agreement with my debt consolidation company and accept payments, can they turn it over to a collection agency wanting more money? If so, what are actions that I can take?
