I am experiencing a serious problem w/ a collection agency. The contract date is 1988, and I responded to a court summons re: this invali debt. Unfortunately, I didn't know to ask the judge to dismiss the case, and she did not do so to my knowledge. I sent a cease and desist letter and the calls have gotten very nasty, and not to my home but that of my mother. My father passed away 10/5 and they are terrorizing my poor mother. I notified them by certified letter that the # their calling is not mine but they refuse to stop. How can I eliminate this problem? Any advise? Charles

ok, here's a question from a person who usually just has answers....it's as follows: how are pay day loans scams? if i understand it correctly, you ask for a loan, for say $300.00, that company then asks that you pay back a fee in addition to that, usually after you next paycheck (or 2 paychecks away). then you pay it back. if you can't pay it back at that time, you can pay another fee to extend the loan. right? how do people have so many issues with these companies? am i missing something here?

I would like to do some credit counseling but I have a revolving line of credit with a cosigner. Will debt counseling effect my cosigner's credit?

Can you please tell me if these payday loan companies are able to garnish my wages? I have made an attempt to make payment arrangements with them due to financial hardship and they are threatening to sue me. Are they able to also serve me papers to take me to court or how does the process work?

I need some assistance with dealing with Sonic PayDay, if anyone, has dealt with these loan sharks and if anyone can offer any suggestions, it will be most helpful. Because I wasn't able to pay the loan amount in full and only made a partial, I am told that I am in Breach of Contract, and that my account is going to be turned over to Universal Fidelity, and that I am going to be sued. They will not work out a payment agreement.

There were several companies calling me all day everday, phone rang nonstop, so we changed our number and made it unlisted with caller ID block. Now these two companies I have never heard of..CAC and Account Solutions Group have somehow been able to find phone numbers for my husband's brother and father, and they are calling them daily. I finally returned the calls yesterday, and suprisingly when I called ASG they were able to get my phone number from their caller ID even though it comes up anonymous for anyone else. They must have special equipment.

I received a call from # 18006640596 they left amessage with very little info when i callled the # back it was a recording saying the # u dailed and to dial an extension . so i dialed the extension and spoke to a lady she told me that i owed a payday loan compamy $521 for a loan i took out in julywhen iasked her the name of the co she told me premier co I never heard of them the only info she had was my name my email address my ss# and the name of the bank when i asked for an address she said i only had to deal with her she never said what co she was with or gave me the address.

Hello, I need to know if anyone has heard of A S & Associates. I received a call from this lady at 866-331-6161 claiming to be an investigator with a particular county and I needed to call back concerning a legal matter. I called her back to find out she was calling me concerning the payday loan I defaulted on. I went through a horrible divorce and and I'm a single mom trying to get back on my feet. I explained to her my situation and am willing to set up some kind of payment arrangement.
