Hi, I am in the process of writing a debt validation letter to a CA. In all the sample letters I find online it states that I should ask for proof that the CA owns the debt, Original signed loan agreement, complete payment history, proof that the CA owns the debt etc. But nowhere in the fdcpa do I find that they need to prove all that, only who the original creditor is and the amount owed. Where can I find out exactly what they are required, by law, to provide as validation?
