Hello: Can CA call your neighbors? I had a male collector call my neighbor yesterday asking for my phone number stating that I had given it to him but he wrote it down wrong. Which she said no way! The collector than had the nerve to call her back and very rudely yell to her" I hope you don't need help one day lady!" And hung up. She said she wanted to tell me and would never tell my husband. I am so embarassed. We had another collector call another neighbor a few months ago asking for my husband and if he still lived there.

If we take a debt consolidation loan including credit cards, are the credit cards closed, or do you pay them off and they remain open? Same question applies to lines of credit.

After reading many post on this company, I came across one that supplied a name of the Assistant Attorney General in Florida. I did that research to locate the rest of the contact information. I encourage everyone to contact and file a complaint with Her. We have options, either we can continue to just sit around complaining with each other or we can file the necessary paperwork with the Attorney General's Office and help others avoid this mess we have had to endured.

Hi, I am in the process of writing a debt validation letter to a CA. In all the sample letters I find online it states that I should ask for proof that the CA owns the debt, Original signed loan agreement, complete payment history, proof that the CA owns the debt etc. But nowhere in the fdcpa do I find that they need to prove all that, only who the original creditor is and the amount owed. Where can I find out exactly what they are required, by law, to provide as validation? Thank you in advance

hello Forum I have here a litle problem on my hand and i don't know how to handle it please help me if any one can. fact is i have a debit of $150 with sbc reason is they offer me some free promotion and i accepted because don't use it there for i'm forgot all about it and when sbc send me the bill i told go away it was free,they told me it's only free 3 months after that i have to pay,i got mad cut off service,and not pay it:)) and now i'm open a business and need to turn on the fone bad luck for me the area my shop is only can get service from SBC comp,when i call them and agree

Hello, There is a debt on my husband's social security number at America Agency. This debt was dated since October 1995(Pacific Bells Phone company). And there were also one from December 2003(SBC phone company) Today my husband attempted to open an account at SBC phone company and the collection agency told us that we have to pay them full amount otherwise they will notify SBC that there is still one debt left in there record even if my husband pay the SBC's debt. I wonder if they have right to keep the record of Pacific Bells and notify SBC? Thank you for this great site.

HI. My husband has an outstanding student loan from about 10 years ago. 7 years ago he decleared bankruptcy, as he could not make the payments (very frustrating as it was his only debt!). The student loan debt was not forgiven and now that he is starting to earn money again a collection agency hired by the government has started to call. I called and talked with them (they are being very nice so far) and talked about options to pay beak a 10000 loan with about 4000 interest accrued over time. We can afford about 150/month to pay back.
