I went out of business but I still have a lease for another year. I don't have the money to payment the monthly dues and so I'm considering to file for bankcruptcy. The bad thing is that the business is not a LLC but an enterpreneurship which I understand is tied to my personal assets. I'm not sure what to do. Any insights will be appreciated on this matter.

When I was 19 i took out 700 dollars in pay day loans. I knew nothing about them now it has been one year and my loans keep renewing with me only paying the interest on the loan so basically i have paid more than the actual principal. My question is can i stop these payments since i have paid more than what i already owe in interest or am i stuck having to pay off the 700 dollars.

Has anyone here had any success with making late payments or perhaps settling on your loan with Cashcall? I have been dealing with them since March 5, 2010 (original loan amount $2,525.00 with monthly payments of $298.94. At last count, my balance was $2,059 and some change). Due to financial hardship(s), I missed two payments and explained to them what it is I am going through. Of course, they want their money but as I have mentioned to them, if I don't have it, I can't get it to them.

I am a single parent and have a payday loan. I can barely pay it and when I tell them that they say I will have to refinance which makes me owe more and more money. I am in the state of nc where it is not legal, so I travel to south carolina every other week to make a payment. I can barely buy food or pay bills because they take the majority of my already small check. Any suggestions?

I called the Dept of Financial Institutions for Ohio today about the legality of what Western Sky & Cashcall are doing and the answer I got was it's legal as far as Ohio banking is concerned. Justification is they are not regulated by the state of Ohio so there is nothing they can do about it. The guy told me I'm on my own. I asked even if the originated "loan" is considered illegal; Cashcall (they don't have a license in Ohio) can buy the account and report on your credit report and act on it as if were legal. The answer is yes! I am really shocked by this.

Dear Nelli, I checked my credit reports today and on Equifax report under "Potentially Negative Information" is my home mortgage info. Even though it shows I "pay as agreed," it states that my "credit limit" is $125,600 but my "balance" is $136,594. In Nov. 2009 my mortgage loan was modified - amount increased (all legal fees etc. added to the my balance), rate lowered and loan changed to 40 yr. fixed rate loan. When I look at my credit report, I have an impression that I am "over limit" with my mortgage company, WAY over limit, that is. Is there anything I could do about it?

I am currently in about $33,000.00 in debt due to credit cards and personal loans. I have a car loan and a rental property. I am having a very hard time paying my credit card balances and want to settle with three major companies. Chase, Citi and Discover. My question is should settling be an option for me or should i refinance my mortgage, take out a loan and pay off everything. Actually I am not sure i qualify for that? Second, when requesting payoff quote for Chase they offered a only a 35% reduction in the balance, is that OK? I preferred at least a 50% decrease.

I am being harrased by a collection company for school loans. I offered to pay $50 a month and they wont accept. The girl said I can pay $95 a month or I will be garnished. I am on state assistance and barley making it. There is no way I can afford this. Adding the $50 a month is pushing it. If I am willing to make a regular monthly payment do they have to accept it? Are they able to garnish knowing that I am willing to pay all though not the price they laid out for me. I live in louisiana
