I need to rent a car as my vehicle is in a auto repair shop. I have heard that the car rental companies check the credit reports of the consumers. So, will they check my credit report before renting a car? If yes, then will that be considered as hard inquiry or soft inquiry? How long will it stay on my credit report?

There is a collection agency Portfolio Recovery Associates calling me for a credit card debt owed from 1995 ? 1997? Aren't the statutes of limitations exceeded in 7 years? and secondly I don't know if this debt is even mine!

Hello, I've researched Missouri law regarding nsf's and etc.. My question is, what will happen if I close my account on 4 pdls I have. Granishment laws, calls at work. Payday One, Check ngo, advance america, plain green loans. I saw in the MO laws that the maximum loan amount was for 500. Check n go loaned me 1,750?? was that legal? Thanks for any responses.

Well...my biggest worry about the remaining cc debt is gone. Bank of America settled with me at 35%. Maybe I could have gotten lower, maybe not, but I'm glad to be done with that one. They were really firm on not settling until now and it came through. After this, it's only Discover and they have begun settlement discussions as opposed to brushing me off as they had originally done. So far about $95K in cc debt settled for somewhere in the neighborhood of 30-35% overall (have to put in all of the numbers in my spreadsheet to see).

I am looking for a good company to do the credit clean up for me. I just really do not have the time to deal with it and would rather put in the hands of people who do it as there job. Greetings, Got my checking account raided last year. Here's how they did it. Got a bank routing number. Got an account number. Printed up some checks with a name on them. Went to Walmart and the ID was validated via a fake driver's license. The routing number and the account number were valid. Funds are in the account to cover the check. I've been doing some research to find prior complaints against MMI debt consolidation company. The latest activity I can find here is Jan 2009 but that was apparently unresolved. Does anyone have experience with MMI and/or suggest some other place I can get information? I've been with MMI for almost 2 years and try not to deal with them unless absolutely necessary because they drive me nuts. I don't think they have ANY idea what they're doing and I think they care even less. I'm worried and any information or suggestions would be most appreciated.

So , I have encountered some difficulty with Regional Adjustment Bureau regarding one of my student loans. A couple of months ago I had one lady call and she got all my account information, set me up to have a monthly payment come out, and haven't heard from them since. Just recently I have been having a completly different lady contact me at work, all day and night long on my phone and she has been rude. I told her I already had that set up and I don't understand why we are doing this again. I tried to call the business and get a different rep and they repeatedly will hang up on me.
