Allied is calling my friends and family's phone numbers...how can this be legal?

MRS & Associates continue to call my office and the office of my husband. My ex-husband is liable for the debt as indicated in my divorce (and I have supplied MRS with this information). I would kindly advise your collectors to hang up when they call and the phone is answered by a professional business rather than ...hello. BTW... we are going to record them next time they call.

Have no idea what to do, a debt collector gave me two options, One to pay off in full which is imposable and two to pay off another amount which is also imposable. What should I do?

Hi We are considering BK. in California. we have 2 homes the one we live in we owe more then it is worth. Our lawyer said we can file BK 7 and move into our rental house and let the other go with the BK. We have a 75000 excemption on the rental after we move in because it will be our primary then. I received a call from CAC Financial. When I called back they tell me they are not CAC Financial and that they are attorneys and that I owe them $2600 for a payday loan 3 years ago. This is the first I've heard about this. I only recently closed a bank account that I've had for over 3 years. They tell me they will have me arrested and I can go to jail for 10 years for check fraud, theft by deception. I requested verification of the debt and the original amount and was told it is not their job to provide me with that information.

well i have had my credit cut in half. its keeps getting lowered and it said i had missed payments. i never missed payments. so i hade my report pulled. 2 say no payments missed and one says i had 2 payments missed. so i called the one who said i missed payments and there doing an investigation now. one is from a school loan that i sent to deferment and says i missed it for 60 days, other is capital one. i never activated the card and they charged me 39.99 for something so i called and canceled it... these 3 things are really hurting my credit.

Receiving phone calls from CAC Financial that is how the caller ID shows up. When I called them back they tell me they are not CAC Financial that they are attorneys and are going to file check fraud theft by deception charges against me and that I can go to jail for 10 years over a pay day loan from 3 years ago. The will not tell me the original amount but tell me I owe then $2600.00 and that they want a substantial amount up front to not file charges against me. I've asked for information in writing, they tell me that they do not have to tell me the original amount.

Does a collection agency HAVE to be licensed to do business in Texas before they can collect a debt in Texas??? That is the way I read the info on the Attorney General's website. . . If not, they are not allowed to collect the debt?

Hi, I have two outstanding PDL'S I'm not getting anywhere! I haven't decided to close my bank account on anything yet. GREAT SKY CASH original amount 200.00 paid over 600.00 3-midland market. original amount 400.00 paid 240.00 I'm in PA and the laws are so confusing! I was wondering if someone could give me some guidence. I just don't want to close my accounts if it's illegal to do so. I just need to get out of this before I can more in over my head.
